GSU-Ep-4

Sasha-Gay Trusty is an Arts and Culture editor living creatively in Atlanta with roots in the countryside of Jamaica, where she was born and spent her early childhood. Having this duality in her background gives her unique cultural experience, which inspires every aspect of Sasha-Gay’s life – from her educational path and career aspirations, to her lifestyle habits and spirituality.

All of these influences, along with her curiosity and passion, birthed the Quaint Revolt publishing and retail concept. Sasha-Gay has always been fascinated with and stimulated by the arts. Some of her earliest memories are how artistic expressions played on her senses, how it made her feel. Words, images, sound and movement – those things always impressed upon Sasha-Gay. There was no way she wasn’t going to work in, or adjacent to, creative industries.

Sasha-Gay graduated from GSU for the second time this May with a BAS in Journalism and minoring in Anthropology. Since then, she’s jumped into the role of Entrepreneur and Freelancer with no regrets. She is now a founding member of The Lola, and a member of The Gathering Spot. However, she developed a knack for shared workspaces right here at LaunchGSU, where she is still heavily involved. On the horizon is publishing our first print issue, curating the coinciding product line and building a hybrid magazine-shoppe app experience. These concepts have been in ideation for a few years, so she’s excited to finally begin turning them into tangible goods.

Connect with Sasha-Gay on LinkedIn and follow Quaint Revolt on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Lawrence Chen is the Founder of Salt Creative House and the Co-founder of Observe.

Nishant Sinha is a Presidential Scholar at Georgia State University and is currently a Computer Science Researcher at Georgia State University; in addition to being the Co-founder of Observe.

Viraj Patel, Founder & CEO, KemNu LLC.

Vishwa Mudigonda, Co-Founder & CTO, KemNu LLC.

KemNu is a lifestyle mobile app that enables people to discover local activities, connect with nearby people, and enjoy building their social circles. It also allows businesses to make more sales by offering deals and discounts to those who actively participate on KemNu. With KemNu, people can build communities in a fast and simple way.

The Problem (Harvard Research Findings | Trevor Haynes, May 2018):

Research by the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences concluded that 92% of Millennials are developing feelings of anxiety, social inadequacies, insecurities, obesity, depression, and other negative thoughts and emotions. Why? It is because they don’t have enough face-to-face and emotional conversations with people. This generation is the most connected in terms of quantity, yet the loneliest in the quality of relationships. They go to social media to voice their concerns and try to get attention, but they are further disappointed to find out that other people are leading exciting lives without them. This problem will continue to grow as technology becomes increasingly addicting.

The Solution: KemNu App

KemNu is the next-generation social networking platform that enables people to easily meet new people and expand their social circle over exciting activities. It’s a simple way to pick an activity, send invites to people, and schedule a time & place. The groups built on KemNu will automatically expire after a week, and encourages users to try new activities with new people. When groups of people meet, they will receive 1 KemNu Coin. The goal is to collect KemNu Coins and redeem them at local businesses. The more you hang out, the more perks you will earn. (5 KemNu Coins = 1 Free Caramel Frappuccino at Starbucks). KemNu uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to personalize activities, improve user experience, and grow local businesses.

Overall, Vishwa and Viraj want you to find the right group to enjoy socializing and growing your emotional intelligence.

Follow KemNu on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
