The 2024 Home of Hope Gwinnett Children’s Shelter 10th Anniversary Gala was held on October 19 at the Westin Atlanta Gwinnett Hotel in Duluth, GA. Serving at-risk children in Gwinnett since 1987, the vision of the Home of Hope Gwinnett Children’s Shelter is to become a superior, self-sustaining, transitional living community for children and young adults who wish to achieve their full potential in a loving and nurturing environment. The North Gwinnett Kiwanis Club hosted it’s Annual Golf Classic at Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, GA on September 13, 2022. For the third year in a row, all proceeds benefitted the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. The presenting sponsor was Homestar Keith Howell Team. About Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter

The Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter is a nonprofit, 501C3 Corporation and a residential care facility which provides services for homeless children up to 17 years of age along with their young mothers. They also provide care and services for homeless girls aging out of the foster care system at 18 years of age. They provide customized “Life Plans” that are designed around the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the kids, while helping mom create a plan of action to get back on her feet. The goal is not simply to be a place of refuge, but act as the “NEXT STEP” towards independence. They take their guests from homeless, to hopeful, to a home of their own.

Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter is a transitional living facility for homeless children (0-17) with their mothers. They are designed to address the homeless issue in Gwinnett County and the metro Atlanta area. They do this by keeping the family unit together and teaching mom the necessary life skills designed to get her to independence. They provide housing, food, and clothing in a safe and nurturing environment where kids are free to be kids while mom works a customized life plan designed to take her from homeless to hopeful, and ultimately into a home of her own.

Home of Hope Fall Classic Golf Tournament

The Home of Hope Fall Classic Golf Tournament was held on September 15, 2020 at the Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course.

For more than two decades, the Kiwanis Club of North Gwinnett has been organizing golf fundraisers for various kid-based community projects. In 2020, for the first time, the organization teamed up with the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter to raise money and help local kids move from homelessness to permanent loving homes. The golf tournament was a way for local golfers and businesses to give to an amazing organization while enjoying a fun day of golf among friends.

Business RadioX was on site providing live radio updates and interviewing the organizers, sponsors and golfers. All of the interviews were presented by Legendary Home Sales Advantage and Realtor Tyler Weant.

GCS develops customized life plans designed to keep the family unit together and set them on a path to independence by providing all the necessary life skills training so mom can sustain herself upon completion of the program. Gwinnett Children’s’ Shelter is a pioneer with this new forward-thinking program which is designed to end the cycle of homelessness for two generations at one time.

Sip and Swine’s mission is two-fold: to showcase and promote the appreciation of competition BBQ in a fun-filled festival environment, and to support the community by donating all of the proceeds of the event to the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter.
