Since the inception of the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce in 1954, the purpose has remained the same; increase prosperity and promote and better community life for all. Our organization continues to be the leader in economic development, advocacy on issues of interest to business and engaging business leaders to ensure the long term economic health of our community.
Forsyth County is located just northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. The County was partitioned in 1832 from a section of Cherokee County territory along with nine other counties in the area. Forsyth County was named for John Forsyth, Governor of Georgia from 1827 – 1829.

Bald Ridge Lodge is a non-profit in Cumming, GA providing a 12-bed Group Home and Community Based Services. The Group Home serves young men (age 12 to 21) who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect, while the Community Based Services serve youth and families in the community in need of support. The services offered through Community Based services include Case Management Services, Nurtured Heart Approach (TM) training for caregivers, and an Independent Living Program in development. Their mission is to provide safe and stable support to young men in the Group Home, Independent Living Program, and Community Based Services, in a manner that nurtures the youth, strengthens healthy relationships, and aids young men in their transition to adulthood. This is accomplished through partnerships with caregivers and a community seeking to care for its own. Come out to Solid Rock Brewing on October 8th, 2023 to support Bald Ridge Lodge! Family Promise of Forsyth County, Inc. serves families who are experiencing homelessness. In cooperation with community churches and volunteers, they provide a safe place to stay and meals along with programs and supports to help the families gain or regain sustainable independence.

They strive for their families to attain sustainable independence. Therefore, each family works on personalized, weekly goals to provide them the knowledge and skills needed to be successful. Each family is also provided a mentor who will continue to work with the family beyond graduation to be a support and a link to additional services they may need.

Jan Rooney is a business owner, wife, mother of 5, and community champion. Jan celebrates 25 years of experience in the insurance industry holding numerous positions from underwriting to claims, to human resources, to State Farm Agent where she enjoys serving her community. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida; a master’s degree from Warner University; a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Designation from the American Institute; and earned her Series 6 and Series 63 designation in the insurance business. Jan leads the most compassionate and knowledge team in the North Georgia area. She and her team are committed to ensuring everyone they speak with understands how to protect their assets, manage risk, and reach their financial goals. Jan has partnered with local schools and developed a Kind Student of the Month program and has a mission to highlight kindness in all Cherokee and Forsyth County schools. With a passion for service, Ty’s focus is on helping as many clients as he can with their mortgage needs & has the experience & creative lending solutions needed to help those who are underserved. He began his career in portfolio lending and retail banking in 2008 for a large privately held bank in Colorado and has built his career on helping clients finance real estate with both traditional lending programs and “outside of the box” portfolio loan solutions. Ty serves on the board of his church, resides in Cumming, Georgia with his wife & children.
