Troy Cobb, Cinch I.T. (North Fulton Business Radio, Episode 366)

For Troy Cobb, transferring his IT experience and skills from the Marine Corps to owning a Cinch I.T. franchise in Atlanta was a perfectly natural progression. In this conversation with host John Ray, Troy shares the values that set Cinch I.T. apart from its competitors, explains why customer experience is such an emphasis for his firm, offers advice for other veterans thinking about business ownership, and much more.  North Fulton Business Radio is broadcast from the North Fulton studio of Business RadioX® inside Renasant Bank in Alpharetta.

Cinch I.T.

Cinch I.T., Inc. was established in 2004. Like so many computer support companies, it started as a one-man shop in a 10×10 office with no windows. But even then, the focus was on building great relationships with their clients. Over the years, Cinch I.T. has been fortunate enough to see unbelievable growth.

They have added some of the most brilliant minds in our industry to the team, expanded into a 12,000 sq ft corporate office complex, and we have been honored to receive numerous awards, including being named one of the Top 501 Managed Service Providers Globally by Future Channels.

Cinch I.T. has established itself as one of the most highly-regarded I.T. company and computer service providers in the United States. The reason is simple. They have spent years shaping the entire company to meet YOUR needs.

With Support plans designed to create lasting relationships, together they ensure immediate and long-term success.

Gunnery Sergeant John Hurlock – United States Marine Corps

Marines are trained to improvise, adapt and overcome any obstacle in whatever situation they are needed. They have the willingness to engage and the determination to defeat the enemy until victory is seized.

The kinds of battles active-duty Marines fight range from traditional warfare to humanitarian and disaster relief missions (HADR). The fighting spirit that helps them win these battles extends beyond the scope of their military service, and many Marines continue to serve in the communities where they live.

Before the title of Marine can be earned, the decision has to be made—to commit to a calling that puts service ahead of self, purpose above pleasure, and the determination to win against all obstacles and adversaries.

Becoming a Marine affects the entire family—and often even the entire community. It’s a decision that needs to be discussed by everyone involved. As you prepare your loved one for the milestones ahead, consider your own transformation—from that of loving mom, dad, teacher or mentor to the unbelievably proud resource they can always count on.

Ambassador Theodore R. Britton Jr. was born on October 17, 1925 in North Augusta, South Carolina to Bessie B. and Theodore R. Britton, Sr. His family relocated to New York City in 1936. Britton left high school in January of 1944 to join the U. S. Marine Corps where he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After being discharged, he enrolled at New York University until the beginning of the Korean War. Britton was then called to active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps where he served until May of 1951. He then resumed his studies at New York University and graduated with his B.A. degree in banking and finance in February of 1952.

Britton worked as a mortgage officer and head of the mortgage department at Carver Federal Savings and Loan Association from 1955 to 1964. From there, he became president of the American Baptist Convention and a leader in the non-profit housing field. Britton was then invited to join the federal government by Harry Finger, who was head of Research and Technology in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Britton closed his offices in New York and Pennsylvania and decided to join HUD in 1971 as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology. As the HUD official managing international research, his volunteer program for the U. S. Information Agency attracted favorable attention. Britton was nominated by President Gerald R. Ford to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Barbados and Grenada and as the U. S. Special Representative to Antigua, Dominica, St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla, St. Lucia and St. Vincent on November 17, 1974. Britton was elected as vice-chair of the Group on Urban Affairs at the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in 1971, and later as president. His resignation as Ambassador was accepted by President Jimmy Carter in May of 1977.

Upon retirement, Britton was honored by the City Councils of Newark, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.  He was presented with the Congressional Gold Medal on June 30, 2012 in recognition of his services with the U.S. Marine Corps’ Montford Point Marines.
