Liza Fewell, Hand-in-Hand Copy

Liza Fewell, Hand-in-Hand Copy (North Fulton Business Radio, Episode 652)

On this episode of North Fulton Business Radio, Liza Fewell, Hand-in-Hand Copy, joined host John Ray to discuss her work as a freelance copywriter. Liza shared when, why, and how she became a copywriter, the skills one needs to be a copywriter, how she captures someone else’s voice in her writing, and much more.

North Fulton Business Radio is broadcast from the North Fulton studio of Business RadioX® inside Renasant Bank in Alpharetta.

Liza Fewell, Freelance Copywriter, Hand-in-Hand Copy

Liza Fewell, Freelance Copywriter, Hand-in-Hand Copy

Liza Fewell, Freelance Copywriter of Hand-in-Hand Copy has always had a passion for writing and helping others, but it wasn’t until 2021 that she put the two together. She now provides written copy for marketing materials for solopreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits. This includes both print and digital assets such as website copy, sales pages, email funnels, brochures, postcards, social media, etc.

Liza describes her life as a labyrinth, where every turn teaches her a new skill for the next part of her journey. So, when circumstances forced her to seek a new career two years ago, she looked back to see where she might go next.

Her background in psychology, education, and art all had one thing in common—helping people. She loves research, reframing information for different audiences, and editing, so copywriting was a natural next step.

Liza is grateful to her family, friends, and professional partners as they supported her through her first year of business. The launch of Hand-in-Hand Copy in January 2022 went well, but health issues related to achalasia interfered with true growth. Now that she’s on the other side of a life-changing surgery, she’s ready to skyrocket her business and help more people with their copywriting needs.

Liza has deep roots in Metro Atlanta. She grew up in Stone Mountain and graduated from Agnes Scott College with a B.A. in psychology. She stayed in the area upon graduation and worked for a nonprofit that supported abandoned and medically fragile children. She then worked as a behavioral therapist and educator at a children’s psychiatric hospital before running her own children’s mural painting business for 10 years. Following that, she spent four years teaching ESL online to children in China.

Liza and her husband, Byron Fewell, are the proud parents of Xander (17), Indy (14), and three fur babies: Luna the dog (7), and cats, Pandora (17) and Gracie (7). Liza homeschooled her children for 8 years, but she is now merely their education coach as they navigate the joys of online schooling and prepare for in-person school next term.

When not writing, Liza loves hiking with her family, reading, or painting.

Titania Jordan, Bark Technologies (North Fulton Business Radio, Episode 648)

Titania Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Parent Officer at Bark Technologies, joined host John Ray to discuss the Bark App, which helps parent monitor children’s online activity, and the new Bark phone, introduced in December 2022, to further help parents with their children’s technology. Tatania also talked about how Bark helps notify parents when they detect a potential crisis in their child, how trends in mental health issues in children correlate with social media exposure, the problems with iPhones, TikTok, and much more.

North Fulton Business Radio is broadcast from the North Fulton studio of Business RadioX® inside Renasant Bank in Alpharetta.

Bark Technologies

Bark’s affordable, award-winning dashboard proactively monitors text messages, YouTube, emails, and 30+ different social networks for potential safety concerns, so busy parents can save time and gain peace of mind.

Technology changes by the second, leaving parents feeling like their children’s digital world is out of their control. But it’s not.

Bark is an accurate, efficient and robust tool for helping parents keep their children safe online.

With sophisticated technologies that go well beyond simple keyword matching or requiring parents to monitor all of their children’s online activities, Bark alerts parents only when there is a credible threat – be it sexting, cyberbullying, Internet predators or even suicidal thoughts.

These alerts, combined with research-based recommendations for addressing the issue head-on, put more power in parents’ hands to address digital dangers. Plus, because Bark is unobtrusive, it helps parents build trust and truly partner with their children for online safety.

Titania Jordan is the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Parent Officer of Bark Technologies, an online safety company that helps keep kids safe online and in real life.

A renowned thought leader on digital parenting, Titania has contributed to pieces in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Huffington Post, Fox Business, Daily Mail, USA Today, Vogue, and more. Her first book, Parenting in a Tech World, was published in 2020 and quickly became a bestseller on Amazon. Titania was also featured in the 2020 documentary Childhood 2.0. She also frequently appears as a subject matter expert on nationally broadcasted programs such as the TODAY Show, Steve Harvey, The Doctors, CBS This Morning, Good Morning America, Fox News, Sirius XM Radio, and CNBC.

In 2017, Titania founded a Facebook group where parents could come together and get advice on raising kids in the digital age, share stories, and learn the latest news about social media. It now has more than 180,000 members and is growing rapidly.

One of her favorite childhood memories is her dad asking her to “figure out this new computer thing” (i.e., read the Microsoft Windows 3.0 user manual) in the early ‘90s and later teaching him to navigate the wild west of the early internet that would eventually turn into the online world we know today.

When she’s not busy trying to make the world a safer place for kids, Titania enjoys painting with her son.

Jennifer Paradis, CEO and Owner, Signatures Apparel

Jennifer Paradis, CEO and Owner, Signatures Apparel

Signatures Apparel’s model is unique. They stands squarely in the void between expensive rental uniform programs and the traditional purchased apparel approach—both of which have become expensive and cumbersome for ordering, distributing and managing. The Signatures Apparel Program delivers the best of both worlds: The convenience of a rental uniform program but the cost efficiency of annual purchasing and the value of ownership—complete with no long-term contracts, no minimum order requirements and the largest selection in the industry.

Since 1992, Signatures has established a competitive position in the corporate apparel and company logo embroidering industry. However, since Jennifer purchased the company in early 2016, she has transformed the company’s processes, culture and focus on service, quickly emerging as an industry leader. In doing so, Jennifer and her team have changed how corporate apparel programs function, and challenged the status-quo model that—for decades—kept the burden of apparel management on the client.

As a Certified Woman Owned Business, Jennifer and her team are eager to serve you!

GLUED

A mindfulness-based approach focusing on the secret ingredient to business success, the human element.  GLUED promotes behavior change through better daily health and the art of compounding habits.

Wellness programs are typically a “self-led approach”. They focus on your employees taking a “life-coach approach” centering on personal development through Mindfulness, Mindset and Movement (The M3 Method).

The goal is to dial-in productivity and create a culture of health & happiness.

That’s why the M3 Method focuses on these problems

  • Reducing Stress & Burnout

  • Increase Retention

  • Improve Overall Employee Health

Progress Equals Happiness

When one feels they are progressing, they will show up in all aspects of their life better, especially at work.

When they are happy, you are happy.

Employees that attribute this to the company they work for are loyal.
