Partnership Gwinnett hosted the 2020 Movers & Makers Manufacturing & Supply Chain Awards on March 5, 2020 at the Infinite Energy Forum. The Keynote Speaker was Robert Packett, the Southeastern Regional Director of Operations with Amazon.

Amazon is building it’s first robotics fulfillment center in Georgia, scheduled to open in late 2020. The $238 million facility straddles the Gwinnett-DeKalb County lines and spans the length of 12 football fields. Once the facility is fully operational, more than 1,000 employees will work alongside robots packing and shipping products. Additionally, workers will be hired for finance, information technology and other jobs.

Robert spoke about the new facility and more in this exclusive interview with Business RadioX.

Robert’s passion is people and process. In his own words, “Investment in our people leads to delighted customers.” Before Amazon, Robert honorably served as an Operations Director and Logistician with the Defense Intelligence Agency and the United States Air Force.

Robert grew up all over the U.S. but calls Louisville, KY his hometown where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Louisville. He currently lives in Tampa with his family and is very engaged in the community.
