Founded in 1999, Emerald Coastkeeper is one of 240 (and counting) member organizations of the Waterkeeper Alliance. We are a grassroots organization that monitors four main watersheds in the Florida Panhandle. Our mission is to investigate, educate and protect our right to swimmable. fishable and drinkable water. We believe that healthy waterways are directly connected to healthy communities and healthy people.

In our four watersheds, you will find many springs, creeks, rivers, bayou’s, bays and of course, the Gulf of Mexico.

Pollution can happen anywhere, not just from large industries. Some of the greatest concerns in our region stem from residential pollution.

Some of the more common culprits are septic system failure, erosion and sedimentation, nutrient loading from fertilizers, red tide, heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, (PCBs) lead, mercury, animal wastes, industrial paint source discharge, oil spills, commercial vessel pollution, residential development, and household garbage.

Protecting our waterways and drinking water from contaminants is everyone’s responsibility. We can’t do it alone…we need your help!

Just about every notable agriculture school in the US is funded in some way, shape or form by the agribusinesses who poison us most. None wants to bite the hand the feeds them. It’s reality, plain and simple.

He has taught over 2000 hours at the Aircraft Structural Maintenance Technical School at NAS Pensacola, Florida, and he also has served overseas in Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Afghanistan. He received his BS Degree from the University of Management and Technology and now runs a restaurant delivery service (CitySpree of Pensacola) with his wife, Patty. CitySpree of Pensacola has been recognized as an “Innovative Marketing Company”, “Small Business of the Month”, and “Best of the Bay” in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Little did I know what was in store and the impact it would have on my future.My water broke unexpectedly at 21 weeks, and I was admitted to the hospital in pre-term labor. I was on bedrest for 20 days before my daughter was delivered by emergency C-section at 23 weeks and 4 days gestation. She weighed 1lb., 2.7oz at birth and was rushed to the NICU, where she stayed for 120 days before coming home. Our NICU journey inspired me to want to make a difference so that no other family would have to experience the trauma of having a sick baby.

for aging adults in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Empowering someone to live a healthy, safe and independent life in their own familiar surroundings is also good for the community.

Council on Aging of West Florida is a local, independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that has served seniors and their families since 1972. Council on Aging of West Florida helps seniors in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties live healthy, safe and independent lives in their own familiar surroundings by providing community based, in-home programs and services such as Meals on Wheels and Alzheimer’s respite care, which is provided by our Adult Day Health Care Center. Other programs and services include case management, the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs, caregiver support and training, and the operation of numerous senior dining sites throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

TLC Caregivers is the area’s oldest non-medical in-home provider of services having been established in 1989! We provide needed in-home non-medical services such as companion, respite, homemaking, bathing assistance, errand running, dressing & toileting assistance with a personalized plan; short term, long term, or one time. Some companions provide transportation and can be included in your or your loved one’s specialized plan. We empower independence in one’s own living environment. We have private pay options and work with area non-profits with funding sources. Our agency is licensed by AHCA, Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration, we are bonded and insured, and we are a Drug Free Company! TLC Caregiver employees are actual employees with W-2’s, NOT 1099’s. Call us when you need us! We answer our phones 24 hours per day, every day and can provide care up to 24 hours per day as needed.
