I grew up in Woodstock, IL.  My grandfather wanted to track down his gypsy ancestor.  So we were going to go after I graduated.  Unfortunately, that did not happen he passed away 6 months before.  I planned to still go.  Until my mother talked me into going to travel school.  Trust me the number of times that I have been to Europe would not equal the 6 months I was planning.

From Woodstock, I moved to Chicago, Wisconsin, then Buckeye, and now Tucson.  When we moved to Buckeye I decided to rent so that I could see where I wanted to be.  We came down to Tucson in October for Parents weekend at the college and I was in love.  It took 2 years to convince my son that I wanted to live here and for him to let me.

Little did I know 5 years ago that I would end up in what I consider one of the most beautiful cities and call it home.  I am constantly amazed at the depth of the colors at sunrise and sunset here in Tucson.

About my business:

My business model is that everyone deserves a customized vacation just like I give to him. If you dream it should it not be attainable? We will find a way to make it happen for you.  This led me to Coastline Travel a Virtuoso travel agency. Virtuoso opens the door to people that can help to make your dream come true!

I create memories!  In the end, we all want memories! Memories of what we have done, time spent with people.  Memories!  I believe that you have to plan for the memories before it is too late.  Everyone needs to be more intentional with the time they have and their travel.  You need to take that bucket list out of the bottom drawer and put it on the calendar.  When planning your time, look at who will be there with you.  What are their interests?  Create memories for them also.

With 39 years in the travel industry, I have done just about every kind of travel there is.  My last position was the personal travel advisor to the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.  I curated not only his, the top executive but his family’s travel.  Before he retired, he asked me to continue working with him and his family, launching Medelberg’s Travel Services.  My specialty utilizes my executive travel background is creating one of a kind travel experiences for my clients.

Jamie was raised in Pasadena/Houston, TX from six years old until I was 14 years old. Your parents divorced when you were 8 and you returned to Massachusetts with your mother and your other siblings because she had custody of you, and she wanted to be closer to her mother in her golden years.

Jamie joined the U.S. National Guard out of Massachusetts when she was 17 years old and spent 3 yrs. active duty and 5yrs inactive for a total of 8 years and was discharged with an honorable discharge. Her military occupational specialty was 39E, which was Special Electronics Devices Repairman.

After the military, she went into the life insurance industry (in sales) as an independent exclusive contractor and worked for American Income Life Insurance Company for 9 years which taught me a great deal about people and business administration, marketing, accounting, advertising, all of those disciplines.

In 2007, her mother wanted to relocate to Arizona and she promised me that if she ever moved back to the southern states, Jamie would pick up and move to be with or near her. Jamie started Anderson Capital Leasing which was a commercial equipment leasing brokerage and did quite well until the 2008 economy crisis.

DO NO HARM offers a proven and time-tested 5-step process to help law enforcement organizations overcome the hurdles they are currently facing: community trust, engagement, and involvement as well as the use of force incidents.
Your co-author Ramon and you wrote this book after developing, testing, and proving that your 5-step system works. He was a former police chief was he not?

Mark knows firsthand what many law enforcement organizations are up against. He helped create this system and implemented every step of our process with his government and community partners’ support and during his tenure, they successfully reduced critical incidents in his department and created a legacy of change.

There are 5 Steps reference in your book.

As a civilian who has been behind the scenes of law enforcement my view on modern law enforcement includes “To serve and protect” is the mission of Law Enforcement Professionals across the country.

We believe police reform is not “retraining” the police.

We believe police reform is not defunding the police.

We believe police reform starts at the top of every organization.

We believe police reform is best maintained for the long term when there is a shift in culture and emphasis on shared values with the community.

We believe police reform is possible, and we can change organizational culture to dramatically reduce the use of force and improve community relations.

We pledge to support our Law Enforcement community as they undergo a cultural shift to not only “Serve and Protect” but also “Do No Harm.”

Caren Jablonsky, Crisis Mobile Team first responder

I have worked in the mental health field for over thirty years with a specialty in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. I have also worked with foster children. I first became interested in counseling when I was thirteen years old because my best friend had parents who both had an alcohol dependence issue and I realized that I had a high level of empathy and ability to actively listen to my friend’s issues. Over the years, I have combined my love of psychology with nutrition and have assisted people in working through mental health issues to forge a healthier way of eating.

About the Business:

I work for a “health home” that provides crisis mobile team services as well as ongoing behavioral health services including a community re-entry program for people who have been incarcerated.

Wayne Satten, Clinical Psychologist

Wayne Satten runs a Private Therapy Practice here in Tucson.

I enjoyed a wonderful upbringing in Los Angeles. After high school, I went east to Philadelphia to attend college and graduate school. I returned to Tucson in 1988 and I’ve lived here ever since. I’ve been a clinical psychologist for my whole career and I’ve primarily provided individual psychotherapy to adults. I’ve always enjoyed the friendships that I’ve established here in Tucson and I’ve maintained a close circle of friends, several of whom I also run and walk with on a regular basis. I’m also an avid baseball fan.  I have a huge collection of baseball cards and I’ve been a Dodger fan for my whole life.
