They employ over 1,000 full-time staff, in addition to many contract positions and volunteers. Over the years, Southwest B&H has developed a reputation as an innovative leader in behavioral health. Mental Health First Aid Training

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training created in 2001 by Betty Kitchener and Anthony Jorm, who recognized the need for first aid training in the area of mental health. Just as people must learn the basics to help someone in need when they have a physical issue, someone with a mental health issue can benefit from first aid care. The National Council for Behavioral Health was given permission to reproduce and update this copyrighted material to train MHFA instructors in the U.S. to spread this knowledge to anyone interested. The course is designed for ages 18+ because it teaches adults how to provide mental health first aid to both adults and children. There is an adult course, where one can learn how to help adults, and a separate Youth MHFA course where one can learn how to help youth and adolescents ages 12-18.

Peer Support Specialist Training

A Peer Support Specialist (PSS) is an individual who can offer help to a consumer based on their own shared experience of being in recovery. This can range from a mental or substance use disorder, or being the family member of a person with a behavioral health condition. Their job can include advocacy, sharing resources, sharing their own experience, mentoring, goal setting, etc.

Joyce Wheeler founded Heavenly Bodies in 2012. After her husband suffered from health issues she started educating her self on various products and their ingredients. She started to study herbs and while doing so learned how to create a salve. With her sense of curiosity she decided to put some herbs together to create her own healing salve, which is one of Heavenly Bodies’s most popular products.

Joyce’s is interest in living a more natural life lead her to conducting research in the areas of food, cleaning products, beauty care, meditation, exercise and more. She began blogging on the topic of homeschooling in 2008, doing curriculum reviews, sharing helpful links along with documenting her experience as she homeschooled her own children. Then as her interested grew in living a more natural lifestyle she began blogging on this topic in 2012 and freelance writing on the topic in 2014. From their she wanted to learn more and share her findings, so in 2015 she started a natural living magazine and podcast. Joyce also gives talks on living natural as she has a strong passion for helping others.

Due to her interest in creating more organic skin care products Joyce enrolled in an organic skin care class in 2016. This has allowed her to learn to create safer products, customize them and has lead to four new products in the Heavenly Body skin care line. She received her certification as a Boutique Skincare Designer on October 13, 2017.

While Joyce’s main focus at this time is on Heavenly Body, she continues to do research on all facets of natural living along with the ingredients she uses.

Conscious Capitalism Takeover

On this CEO Exclusive Radio, host Soyini Coke discusses what it will take in order for all companies to embrace the Conscious Capitalism way of doing business. She also talks about features the infrastructure needs in order to help businesses who have made the commitment:

Realistic—I’ve been bringing up the dark side of human behavior in my conversations about conscious capitalism lately. I think it’s critical to have an approach to helping business implement with real people. How do you create a conscious culture in the face of people’s natural tendency to gossip? How do you deal with ethical failures? Implementation has to effectively address non-conscious capitalism. Enough with the butterflies and rainbows, already.

Authentic—Effective implementation has to get underneath the impulse for social performance. I want to look like I have everything together. So do you. So does everyone. But, if implementation of conscious capitalism devolves into good PR, the movement will not realize its potential. Here’s another place where metrics will be incredibly helpful.

Accessible—Conscious Capitalism needs to avoid a club mentality or the specter of elitism. Full market adoption by definition means that this approach is for everyone. Small businesses, large businesses. Rural farmers and city bankers. Hospitals, schools, manufacturers, and every industry you can think of. Fortune 100 CEOs and business school students. Answering the question of how to make implementation available to the masses is a key issue to address.
