Kolleen Edwards Chesley has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and spent the majority of her career as a financial advisor. In that role, Kolleen was responsible for finding her own clients and quickly learned the value of networking, networking, and even more networking. It was in 2004 and during her sales career that she, along with two other professional business women met for lunch with the purpose of helping to motivate each other after Hurricane Ivan had blown through our area and changed not only the physical landscape of the area, but also impacted the business landscape as well. Out of that lunch was born what is now a thriving not-for-profit organization for business women.

Kolleen currently serves full-time as the Founding Director of what was originally called Women’s Business Lunch and is now known as Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast. The organization advocates a culture of confidence building, lifelong learning, collaboration, empowering others and a spirit of charitable giving.

The mission of Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is to promote, advance and improve women in business and the organization accomplishes these in a number of different ways.

  • Monthly networking meetings in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. These are open to all women and are free to attend. We run a structured meeting with open networking, an educational segment, a sponsor presentation, an opportunity to hear about the businesses of all attendees, and a whole lot of fun. We frequently hear from attendees that these meeting are chock full of value and a great way to build new relationships to help support their businesses. The Pensacola meetings include lunch paid for by our sponsors.
  • Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast Magazine. We have produced 4 editions of this print magazine. Each edition features interviewees of local successful leaders in business who share their honest thoughts on leadership, success, obstacles, and inspiration as it relates to women in business. We also include other articles on leadership, networking, and other skill development. It is geared for anyone in business or looking for business motivation and tips. Our goal is for this to be a quarterly publication, however the magazine is currently on hold as we explore graphic designers. Our latest edition can still be found on our website.
  • Annual Pursue Your Passion Women’s conference. To help celebrate National Business Women’s Week, we hold a full day conference during the third week of October along with several other events leading up to the conference. We feature a national keynote speaker, several local successful leaders in business, along with Speed Networking, an Experience Hall, structured and unstructured networking exercises and plenty of laughter, relationship building and excitement. Our attendees are not only motivated by the conference but they leave with tangible tips they can take back and implement in their businesses to lead them to success. For 2019, our conference will be held on Wednesday, October 17th , 2018 at Sanders Beach.
  • Power Up Challenge is a 12 week educational series where we hold classes once a week for two hours. Classes focused around four main areas of business: Networking, Marketing, Business Efficiency, and Sales Skills. Open to men and women and all classmates receive the full audio recording of each class along with class notes, expanded notes, and extra resources. Remote classes also available. Classes are affordable and attendees are elated with the amount and quality of the information that is shared.

Women in Leadership radio podcast show – sponsored by Pensacola Business Radio X. We hold monthly shows featuring local community leaders and other men and women in business. We engage our guests in conversational style in-depth interviews.

My expertise has been all over, I started in video production, moved into digital ads /analytics and shifted into using data for user experience. I’m capable of ranting a bit about any marketing question. I’m sorry if this isn’t super helpful.

I’m currently working on a few articles about AI, those don’t fully relate to marketing and maybe a bit doom and gloom. I’ve come to think AI, is going to either kill us all or destabilizes the economy… As I said, doom and gloom.

Lyndol Woodruff / Thought Culture

I’ve been all over, experienced a ton of amazing and crazy things, met a ton of amazing people (and some not so good people), worked in all facets of entertainment in LA for a number of years, built stuff, lost stuff, ignored saving money, been in trouble with the law, avoided love, lived in a bus, done stand up comedy, slept on couches, slept in bushes, slept in jail cells. And a laundry list of other shenanigans. And yet, here I am. Still alive. With a great big question mark on how that is even possible.

I am currently Chief Connection Officer of Dallas-based production company, Thought Culture, Director of the Southwest Region for Recording Artists Guild (RAG) and working with my team to build my personal brand as an inspirational comedian.

Blythe Brumleve / Brumlevebrands.com
In 2008, Blythe was working as a blogger with a dream of owning her own company when she received an opportunity to work in the world of logistics. As an executive assistant to the CEO, COO, and CFO, she gained first-hand knowledge into the daily operations of a $140M asset-based logistics provider. Knowing about her blogging side hustle, the executive team allowed her to take on the additional responsibility of the company’s digital marketing initiatives where she felt as if she found her true calling. However five years later the company unfortunately closed leaving Blythe to seek other opportunities in marketing and media. During stints as editor in chief of a local magazine and radio/TV broadcaster in the North Florida market, Blythe’s team earned several awards including several ADDY®’s plus receiving runner-up as Jacksonville’s Best Radio Personality. Eventually Blythe would use these skills to realize her dream by founding Digital Dispatch in 2018. Present day, Blythe and her team oversee a variety of digital marketing and web development projects for their clients with an omnichannel approach. Using turn key in addition to custom built solutions, Digital Dispatch is able to help the transportation industry with inbound marketing strategy, online employee/driver recruiting solutions, streamlined communications, goal-oriented marketing analytics, and other software tools specifically built for the transportation industry.

The work of Women in Technology has an incredible impact.

Since 1992, Women in Technology has had a mission dedicated to promoting the advancement of women in Georgia’s technology community. Through the WIT COMMUNITY, WIT also educates and encourages girls and young women to pursue careers in STEAM.

Jill_ArcadioJill Arcadio is a Georgia native – raised in Valdosta, graduated from Mercer University in Macon, and currently lives in Lawrenceville. She is a Software Engineering Manager at Cox Automotive and the WIT Girl’s Volunteer Program Director.

When Jill attended her first WIT Forum in 2014, she came away from it deeply inspired. She wanted to work with or work for every woman who spoke at the event. Seeing so many women in attendance supporting each other and working toward the same goals opened her eyes to the opportunities this organization offered. Once Jill started volunteering with WIT Girls, she saw the difference we could make (and have already made) in encouraging young girls to pursue STEAM in school and in their future careers.

Her favorite part of every WIT Girls event is seeing how excited everyone is about learning new ideas, trying out new technologies, and sharing their love of STEAM with other girls who are just as passionate as they are! Growing up, Jill had some amazing female role models, and would not be who she is today without their influence. Jill said, “If I have the opportunity to be a role model for even one girl, I feel like I will have made a difference!”

Stephanie_ColemanStephanie C. Coleman, a mother of two teenagers, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated in the first graduating class of Westlake High School. She holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. During her senior year she was elected Senior of the Year for the Society of Management Information Systems. She is currently a Director of Digital Communications with responsibilities for a popular Georgia company’s website, email marketing, and social media presence.

Ms. Coleman rose through the ranks at Arthur Andersen, LLP from application developer in their Tax Solutions organization to project manager in the Business Consulting organization over an eight-year tenure. She flexed her entrepreneurial muscles by creating a small web design, development, and maintenance company that she developed over a ten-year period. While growing the small business, Ms. Coleman began working as a quality assurance manager and senior application developer at a small human resources software development company.

Ms. Coleman was introduced to Women in Technology when she became a 2013 Woman of the Year finalist while she was working as Director of Web Services at Southern Polytechnic State University. Since that time, she has explored multiple opportunities to volunteer within WIT, landing as the Campus Manager for WIT Campus at Kennesaw State University for the past two years. Through Women in Technology and WIT Campus at KSU, Ms. Coleman has been able to marry
her love of STEAM and desire to mentor others in their technology career journey.
