Aviary Photo_130494956833775146N. Wallace Kelleman, “Wally” to her friends, is nearly an institution in the Atlanta Elder Law community.  A lifelong student, Wally attended law school in the late 1980s, and graduated with two law degrees – one from Western New England College of Law, and one from Emory School of Law.  After 38 years as an RN, Wally recognized a gaping hole in the services available to Atlanta’s senior population, and formed The Kelleman Law Firm.  As one might expect, Wally spends time with clients helping with a broad range of issues, including estate planning and asset protection.  But more importantly, in Wally’s own words, she is “the conscience of the client or family.”  She is asking the difficult questions like, “who will support you when you are no longer able to support yourself?”  Wally can be reached via e-mail at attynwk@aol.com, or by phone at (770) 736-0369.  Visit her website at www.kellemanlaw.com.

We want to thank Griswold Home Care for sponsoring today’s show.  Griswold Home Care has been a preferred provider of high quality, affordable in-home senior care in Atlanta for more than 20 years.

Carrie Bellware has spent a good bit of her career working for non-profit organizations.  Shortly after moving to Atlanta in 1996, she began working with Jewish Family Services on a part time basis.  After ten years with Jewish Family Services, she took a quick hiatus away from Atlanta.  After a few short years away, she moved back to the Atlanta area, and accepted the position of Executive Director with Senior Services North Fulton (SSNF), where she’s loved her job for the last 18 months!  SSNF is a non-profit organization providing Meals on Wheels, medical transportation, senior centers and a staff of in-home care managers.

Joining Carrie this morning is SSNF board member, and returning guest, Sue Sharpe, Owner of Mobility Express.  Carrie and Sue particularly wanted to highlight SSNF’s upcoming event, Art from the Heart, their annual fundraising gala being held at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek on February 11 at 7PM.  They tell us this is a “Don’t Miss” event with dinner, music, dancing and a silent auction.  For more information, please visit their website at www.ssnorthfulton.org, or call them at (770) 993-1906.

Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, John McNair graduated from law school at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.  Wanting to further his education, John came to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University, ultimately received a Master of Tax Law degree.  He began his private practice in 1983, and spent the first decade on estate planning, probate and taxation.  Today, John is a Partner in the firm Barnett, McNair, Hall LLP.  Over the past fifteen years, John has been thrilled to see his practice start to gravitate towards Elder Law.  He takes particular satisfaction in being able to help seniors find funds to pay for their long term care, and in helping them preserve the estates they have worked so hard to build.  Contact John via email at jmcnair@barnettmcnair.com, or via phone at (214) 691-7781.  You can also visit his website at www.mcnair.elderlawanswers.com.

We want to thank Griswold Special Care for sponsoring today’s show.  Griswold Special Care has been a preferred provider of high quality, affordable in-home senior care in Dallas and Atlanta for 20 years.

Stockard CompressedDon Stockard started his career as a teacher and a coach after receiving both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education.  It wasn’t long before Don realized that his personality and talents were well-suited to a career in sales.  Nearly 25 years ago, Don became one of the first to market and sell Long Term Care insurance in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.  Over the course of time, Don discovered that he had a real passion for our country’s service men and women, and wanted to give his own time to help them.  Approximately four years ago, Don went into semi-retirement, and began volunteering his services to assist veterans in navigating the application process for the Improved Pension Benefit, also known as Veterans Aid & Attendance.  Don’s services are free of charge to veterans and their families.  Don can be reached by phone at 1-800-500-9168 ext. 210, or at (972) 267-6735.  He can also be reached via email at d_stockard@sbcglobal.net

Patti Elrod Hill grew up and went to school in South Dakota.  She acknowledges that when people learn she’s from South Dakota, the typical response is “I’ve never met anyone from South Dakota before”!  Fortunately for Patti, her next stop was Hawaii, thanks to a Navy marriage.  After 3 years in Hawaii, she moved again, this time to St. Louis.  While in St. Louis, she discovered a passion for the law, and attended Law School at Washington University.  Upon graduation, and yet another move to the Atlanta area, Pattie took a job with the Veteran’s Administration.  At the VA she developed an interest in serving the elder and disabled population.  Today she is the owner and lead counsel for The Elrod-Hill Law Firm.  She prides herself in being personally involved with every client.  Her firm specializes inElrod Van Treese compressed elder law and veterans benefits planning.  Patti can be reached at (770) 416-0776, or on the web at www.elrod-hillfirm.com.

Munster, DanAfter earning degrees in both English and History, Dan Munster did what anybody would do with those two degrees.  He went back to school to study Law!  Upon completion of his law degree, Dan had the privilege of working for Atlanta Legal Aid for five years.  During his tenure there, he was allowed to choose the area of law he wanted to practice.  Dan chose the Senior Citizens Law Project as a result of his relationship with his paternal grandmother, and her experiences as a senior.  Dan started his own private practice in 1999, and now is one of Georgia’s foremost experts in Medicare and Medicaid.  Dan can be reached 404-920-0521, or visit his website at www.georgiaelderlaw.net.
