Andy Maurer is an associate level licensed therapist at The Phoenix Counseling Collective, which is a group of counselors and consultants who are rooted in the city of Phoenix and committed to walking alongside others to know their story, come face to face with their humanity, and grow as persons. As a licensed trauma therapist Andy works primarily with founders, CEO’s, business leaders, adults, and couples who have experienced trauma or abuse. Having previously been a college professor, he taught courses on marriage, family, and sport psychology. He earned both a Master of Divinity in Professional Counseling from Phoenix Seminary and a Masters in Marital Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary.

A true local, Mrs. Bowden was raised on Pensacola Beach with her mother, step father, younger sister and younger brother. She attended Pensacola Beach Elementary School and Gulf Breeze Middle School and High School. She attended Pensacola Junior College, now Pensacola State College, full time her senior year of high school as part of the dual enrollment program. After graduating from high school, she attended Florida State University on an academic scholarship. While attending FSU, she was employed and was on the Level Co. Dance Team. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications and a minor in English. She attended law school at Barry University School of Law in Orlando. While attending Barry, she received her honors certificate in children and family law. After graduating law school, she took the Florida Bar Exam and became licensed to practice law in Florida. She then began her first position as a practicing attorney at the Office of the Public Defender in Escambia County. As a Public Defender, Mrs. Bowden practiced criminal defense, where she represented over 2000 defendants. She gained great experience in and out of Court, handling misdemeanor and felony cases. After three years as an attorney at the Office of the Public Defender, she began her career in private practice at a small, local firm. There, she practiced Family Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury and Wills, before deciding to open her own firm, Lacie Bowden Law.

Mrs. Bowden lives in Pensacola with her husband and their four pets. She still enjoys many of the same activities that she grew up doing, including lounging on the beach, surfing, paddle boarding, boating, fishing and strolling the beach on her bike. She loves spending time with family and friends, who are all a huge part of her life. She also enjoys dancing, photography and traveling.

From the time Mrs. Bowden was in elementary school, she always had an interest in becoming an attorney. Her parents divorced when she was very young, so Family Law had been something she wanted to do from very early on. She wanted to help everyone involved in a divorce, whether it was the parents, children or extended family. She truly understands the aspects of divorce, which gives her a special connection with her clients in that particular area of law.

Kolleen Edwards Chesley has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and spent the majority of her career as a financial advisor. The mission of Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is to promote, advance and improve women in business and the organization accomplishes these in a number of different ways.

Monthly networking meetings in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. These are open to all women and are free to attend. We run a structured meeting with open networking, an educational segment, a sponsor presentation, an opportunity to hear about the businesses of all attendees, and a whole lot of fun. We frequently hear from attendees that these meeting are chock full of value and a great way to build new relationships to help support their businesses. The Pensacola meetings include lunch paid for by our sponsors.
Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast Magazine. We have produced 4 editions of this print magazine. Each edition features interviewees of local successful leaders in business who share their honest thoughts on leadership, success, obstacles, and inspiration as it relates to women in business. We also include other articles on leadership, networking, and other skill development. It is geared for anyone in business or looking for business motivation and tips. Our goal is for this to be a quarterly publication, however the magazine is currently on hold as we explore graphic designers. Our latest edition can still be found on our website.
Annual Pursue Your Passion Women’s conference. To help celebrate National Business Women’s Week, we hold a full day conference during the third week of October along with several other events leading up to the conference. We feature a national keynote speaker, several local successful leaders in business, along with Speed Networking, an Experience Hall, structured and unstructured networking exercises and plenty of laughter, relationship building and excitement. Our attendees are not only motivated by the conference but they leave with tangible tips they can take back and implement in their businesses to lead them to success. For 2018, our conference will be held on Wednesday, October 17^th and Thursday, October 18^th, 2018 at Sanders Beach.
Power Up Challenge is a 12 week educational series where we hold classes once a week for two hours. Classes focused around four main areas of business: Networking, Marketing, Business Efficiency, and Sales Skills. Open to men and women and all classmates receive the full audio recording of each class along with class notes, expanded notes, and extra resources. Remote classes also available. Classes are affordable and attendees are elated with the amount and quality of the information that is shared.

TO TEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN (AND YOUNGER) VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS BEFORE THEY REACH THE HIGH PEER PRESSURE AGE OF MIDDLE SCHOOL SO THAT THEY’LL BE ABLE TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS WITHOUT THE HELP OF THEIR PARENTS OR TEACHERS, WHEN FACED WITH CHALLENGING CHOICES.
IF YOU KEEP A CHILD’S ATTENTION LONGER, THE EDUCATIONAL MESSAGE WILL BE STRONGER.
READING IS THE BASIS OF LEARNING AND EVERY CHILD, IN EVERY COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE THAT OPPORTUNITY.

It goes without saying; that we never want to lose our children, ever. Empowering them when they’re young (1^st to 5^th Graders) with “real life” lessons will position them to make the right decisions when we’re not around.

The topics in red ink above are serious, but by using fictional TIKI Super Heroes and funny cartoon like settings we’re able to keep the children engaged without the stories being overly scary.
