Kim Martin/Nadler Biernath LLC

Kim Martin is an attorney at Nadler Biernath LLC. Her practice focuses on trusts and estates, divorce and guardianship issues, with a specialization in planning for families with a special needs family member. Kim has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Virginia (1990). She earned her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1999). She was admitted to the practice of law in Georgia in 1999. As the mother of two beautiful children, one of whom has autism, Kim brings to her practice an appreciation for the unique challenges and joys of parenting a special needs child.

Before joining Nadler Biernath, Kim was an associate at Lefkoff, Duncan, Grimes, McSwain and Hass, P.C., and an associate in the Estate Planning and Administration group at the Atlanta office of Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams and Martin (now Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams and Aughtry). She has also worked in the State and Local Tax Division of KPMG, LLP.

Kim is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), including the Georgia Chapter of NAELA, and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. She currently serves on the Board of “Just” People, an organization dedicated to providing safe housing and day programs for disabled adults, and on the Editorial Board of The Mortmain, a publication of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. Kim served two terms as an elected member of the Policy Council for Easter Seals and was named Easter Seals Parent of the Year in 2009. Her publications include articles in Trusts and Estates Magazine and Family Lawyer Magazine. She is a frequent speaker on the subjects of special needs trusts, guardianship, and divorce settlement agreements for families that include a child with special needs.

Bill Hall/Fidelity Bank

Bill Hall is a Senior Trust Officer at Fidelity Bank with over 22 years of banking experience. He attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and is a graduate of the Trust School at the Cannon Financial Institute. Bill has worked passionately in his career to earn and retain his clients’ trust by listening to and understanding his clients’ needs while never compromising his integrity. His proficiencies include retirement planning, investment management, developing asset protection strategies, addressing tax and estate planning issues, and implementing plans to reach clients’ goals. Bill is an active member of both the Atlanta Estate Planning Council and the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia. He also serves as a Board of Director for the Frazer Center and Fallen Sparrow. Bill is a member of North Point Community Church where he enjoys volunteering as a Trip Leader for the international division. He resides in Alpharetta with his wife Lori, their son Cole and daughter Emma.

Tim Sheehan is a Vice President and Senior Wealth Director in the Atlanta office of BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Karen Havey is a Family Wealth Strategist for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Karen joined the firm in 2016 bringing ten years of experience as a practicing tax attorney. In this role, she works to develop innovative strategies in wealth transfer analytics and ownership structures to maximize our clients’ wealth after taxes and across generations.

Karen has over ten years of experience providing comprehensive wealth planning advice to individuals and families. Most recently, she was a partner at a national tax law firm where she advised high net worth clients and families in regard to wealth and estate planning with emphasis on the estate, gift and income tax laws. She spent substantial time assisting fiduciaries with post mortem planning and tax filings. Her practice was also heavily focused on advising entrepreneurs in regard to asset protection and business succession planning through the use of trusts. In addition, Karen frequently advised clients on the implementation, structuring and repair of captive insurance companies.

Christy Butler Eckoff is responsible for the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s comprehensive planned and major giving programs, Nonprofit Advantage Fund private placement institutional investment vehicle, asset-based giving, legal issues pertaining to charitable tax planning, funds, and agreements, and business development. Previously, Christy served as senior director of gift planning at Georgia State University. She is past-president of the Georgia Planned Giving Council, past-president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Atlanta chapter and a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, North Carolina bar and the Junior League of Atlanta. Christy is a board member of AdNet (the Advancement Network for Community Foundations) and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. Brian Sengson/Bennett Thrasher

Brian Sengson is a Manager in the State and Local Tax practice with Bennett Thrasher. Brian specializes in helping clients reduce their effective state tax rates through multi-state tax planning, state credits, and economic development incentives. Brian also provides state tax consulting for M&A due diligence with an emphasis on income/franchise tax, sales and use tax, and unclaimed property.

Prior to joining the firm, Brian managed the tax litigation practice of a national consulting firm specializing in federal and state tax credits for small/medium sized businesses and Fortune 500 companies. Brian earned his Juris Doctorate with honors at Georgia State University and graduated from Lee University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Business Management. Brian is a licensed attorney with the State Bar of Georgia, and is a member of the Bar’s Tax Law Section in addition to the American Bar Association (“ABA”).

Peter Stathopoulos/Bennett Thrasher

Peter Stathopoulos is a Partner and leads Bennett Thrasher’s State and Local Tax practice. Peter has been practicing in the area of state and local taxation and economic development incentives since 1993. Peter has extensive experience in helping clients reduce their effective state tax rates through multi-state tax planning and in resolving state tax controversies from the audit level through litigation in state trial and appellate courts.

Prior to joining the firm, Peter was a partner with a national law firm and practiced in the area of state and local tax controversy and litigation. Prior to entering private law practice, Peter was a principal consultant in the multi-state tax consulting practice of a Big Four accounting firm. Prior to joining Big Four accounting, Peter was a tax policy attorney with the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Peter has worked closely with state tax and economic development policy makers to represent the business community’s interests. In 2008, Peter helped draft a portion of the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act as well as legislation that expanded a variety of Georgia tax credits to apply to the broadcasting industry. In 2002, he co-chaired a joint Georgia Department of Revenue/State Bar of Georgia committee that help draft Georgia’s current consolidated income tax return regulations. In 2001, he served on the executive committee of the Business Council of Alabama that helped draft Alabama’s privilege tax scheme. In 1995, he was a tax policy attorney with the Georgia Department of Revenue and led the drafting of regulations for many of Georgia’s current tax credits and acted as a liaison with the Governor’s Economic Development Council.

Jason Doss/The Doss Firm

Jason Doss is the owner of The Doss Firm, LLC, an Atlanta-based law firm devoted to representing consumers across the country in a variety of areas including investment disputes and consumer class action litigation. He has helped recover millions in damages from well-known financial services companies on behalf of individual investors who lost their life savings due to bad investment advice and in some cases, financial fraud.

Notably, Mr. Doss successfully represented a large of group of investors who were defrauded in a Ponzi scheme at the Atlanta-based mega-church New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. The case was deemed as one of the largest church-based affinity fraud schemes in American history, received national media attention, and was featured on the popular ABC show Nightline. In addition, Jason Doss was co-lead counsel on two separate consumer class action cases against two of Georgia’s largest natural gas providers, obtaining class settlements totaling $18.5 million on behalf of over 750,000 Georgia residents for alleged overcharges.

Jason Doss is past-President and a current Board of Directors member of Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA). PIABA is an international bar association devoted to protecting the rights of the investing public. Mr. Doss is also a founding board member and current President and CEO of The PIABA Foundation, a charitable organization devoted to promoting investor education.

Jason Doss believes that the best way to avoid becoming a victim of consumer fraud and/or investment abuse is through education. To help prevent investment and consumer abuse, Mr. Doss co-authored a book with best-selling author and investment adviser Frank Armstrong III, entitled “The Retirement Challenge: Will You Sink or Swim?” It was released in January 2009 and is currently sold at book stores across the country.

David Bain/Law Offices of David A. Bain

David Bain represents angry investors.  He began his practice with a class action firm, litigating securities class actions in the age of Enron. For the last 11 years he’s had his own practice The Law Offices of David A. Bain, representing investors in cases against directors, officers, auditors, investment bankers, venture capital firms, broker-dealers, and investment advisers. He often provides the plaintiff’s perspective at securities seminars and has assisted state officials in preparing to testify before Congress concerning securities legislation.

David received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where he was a Woodruff Scholar and was named to Phi Beta Kappa. Harlan Graiser/SignatureFD

Harlan Graiser is a Senior Risk Management Consultant at SignatureFD where he helps to assess a client’s risk management portfolio, determine more effective and efficient insurance strategies and select appropriate insurance products for implementation. He works closely with SignatureFD’s relationship managers in order to coordinate his work with the client’s core financial planning objectives. His insurance focus is mainly in the areas of life, disability, long-term care and fixed annuities. He has been a licensed insurance agent and broker for over 16 years and holds the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) as well as CLTC (Certified Long Term Care) designations. Harlan earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Xavier University in Ohio.

Before his career switch to insurance and financial services in 2002, Harlan worked as a management consultant for firms such as KPMG, Ernst & Young and Dove Consulting.

Jason Lina/Resource Planning Group

Jason Lina is a Partner, Lead Advisor, and Chief Investment Officer at Resource Planning Group where he advises clients in financial planning matters covering investments, taxes, estate planning, retirement planning, personal finance, education planning, and insurance.  He is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner) with over 18 years of professional experience in the financial services industry.

Jason earned his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and received his undergraduate degree (BA, History) from Davidson College where he was captain of the golf team and a first-team Academic All-American.

Prior to joining Resource Planning Group, Jason was a Senior Advisor and Director of Research at DCA Global Wealth Management.  He has experience as a fixed income credit analyst at Jefferson Pilot Financial and as an equity analyst for Sun Trust Bank and AIM Funds.  He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, Fee-Only ® National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.

Jason and his wife, Jennifer, live in Alpharetta, GA with their three children – a daughter and two sons.

Richard Wilcox/CRI

Richard has over 25 years of experience in public accounting and has leadership responsibilities in CRI’s tax department. Richard works directly with the tax matters of corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals. He is involved with privately-owned businesses, their owners and personal tax planning. In addition, as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Richard specializes in the areas of tax planning, retirement and estate planning and international tax issues.

J.P. Curcio/Bernstein Private Wealth Management

John-Peter Curcio (JP) is with Bernstein Private Wealth Management working out of the firm’s Atlanta office where he advises high-net-worth individuals and institutions regarding investment strategies. JP works closely with clients and their professional advisors on tax matters, estate planning, concentrated stock positions as well as the sale of privately held businesses. Before joining Bernstein, JP was with Sandler O’Neill + Partners where he began by helping build their New York Equities division after 9 11 and ended his time there as Head of Equities on the West Coast.

Prior to Sandler O’Neill, JP was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs in New York and London. JP earned a BA, cum laude, from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, and holds an MBA in finance, with honors, from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management in Nashville, TN. In addition to his involvement with the Mt. Pisgah Church in Alpharetta, JP serves on the Board of Communities in Schools Atlanta and is a former Vice President of the Board of TPC in Tiburon, California.

Morgan Luddeke/Cohen & Caproni

Morgan assists individuals with their estate planning and probate needs, including advice on the use of wills, trusts, and family partnerships, planning for retirement, and estate tax and administration issues.  In addition, Morgan advises clients on the many aspects of business planning.  This includes representation of businesses and their owners through the various aspects of business, such as structural matters, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, business succession planning, and other tax planning.  Prior to joining Cohen & Caproni, Morgan worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in both the Investment Management and Real Estate tax group and the State and Local tax group where she gained an expertise in tax planning strategies.
