Move Your AE

I help you take command of your career by showing you how to document and promote your full career value.

The “Æ” (pronounced “ash”) is the symbol that now represents the sum of your skills, talents, education, experiences, credentials and so much more about you. It represents your entire career value, not just a set of skills.

To get ahead in your job, or to get another job, you need to Know, Grow, and Show your career value, not just what is on a resume or your LinkedIn profile. Competition is tough out there, and without this knowledge, you will be left behind.

Buy “Move Your Æ (ash)” now on Amazon (paperback or Kindle):

http://bit.ly/MoveYourAshBook

Once you have started reading it (at least through Chapter 7), let’s connect and discuss. You will have a new view on your career at that point.

Kolleen Edwards Chesley

Kolleen Edwards Chesley has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and spent the majority of her career as a financial advisor. In that role, Kolleen was responsible for finding her own clients and quickly learned the value of networking, networking, and even more networking. It was in 2004 and during her sales career that she, along with two other professional business women met for lunch with the purpose of helping to motivate each other after Hurricane Ivan had blown through our area and changed not only the physical landscape of the area, but also impacted the business landscape as well. Out of that lunch was born what is now a thriving not-for-profit organization for business women.

Kolleen currently serves full-time as the Founding Director of what was originally called Women’s Business Lunch and is now known as Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast. The organization advocates a culture of confidence building, lifelong learning, collaboration, empowering others and a spirit of charitable giving.

The mission of Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is to promote, advance and improve women in business and the organization accomplishes these in a number of different ways.

  • Monthly networking meetings in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. These are open to all women and are free to attend. We run a structured meeting with open networking, an educational segment, a sponsor presentation, an opportunity to hear about the businesses of all attendees, and a whole lot of fun. We frequently hear from attendees that these meeting are chock full of value and a great way to build new relationships to help support their businesses. The Pensacola meetings include lunch paid for by our sponsors.
  • Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast Magazine. We have produced 4 editions of this print magazine. Each edition features interviewees of local successful leaders in business who share their honest thoughts on leadership, success, obstacles, and inspiration as it relates to women in business. We also include other articles on leadership, networking, and other skill development. It is geared for anyone in business or looking for business motivation and tips. Our goal is for this to be a quarterly publication, however the magazine is currently on hold as we explore graphic designers. Our latest edition can still be found on our website.
  • Annual Pursue Your Passion Women’s conference. To help celebrate National Business Women’s Week, we hold a full day conference during the third week of October along with several other events leading up to the conference. We feature a national keynote speaker, several local successful leaders in business, along with Speed Networking, an Experience Hall, structured and unstructured networking exercises and plenty of laughter, relationship building and excitement. Our attendees are not only motivated by the conference but they leave with tangible tips they can take back and implement in their businesses to lead them to success. For 2018, our conference will be held on Wednesday, October 17th and Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at Sanders Beach.
  • Power Up Challenge is a 12 week educational series where we hold classes once a week for two hours. Classes focused around four main areas of business: Networking, Marketing, Business Efficiency, and Sales Skills. Open to men and women and all classmates receive the full audio recording of each class along with class notes, expanded notes, and extra resources. Remote classes also available. Classes are affordable and attendees are elated with the amount and quality of the information that is shared.
  • Women in Leadership radio podcast show – sponsored by Pensacola Business Radio X. We hold monthly shows featuring local community leaders and other men and women in business. We engage our guests in conversational style in-depth interviews. They share their advice on topics such as mentoring, keys to success, time management tools, personal mantras and favorite inspirations, and what men can do to help support women in business.
  • Membership in Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is also available.

2017 Pursue Your Passion Conference

To celebrate National Business Women’s Week 2017, Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast proudly presents their 5th Annual Pursue Your Passion Conference, bringing together nearly 200 women to share their business skills and creativity during networking events and educational sessions.

Pursue Your Passion Conference is Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast’s annual fundraiser for Gulf Coast Kid’s House (GCKH), as 80% of the conference profits are donated to GCKH. This year’s funds will be used to upgrade current security at GCKH to better protect their clients, partner agencies and employees, allowing them to service children in the Pensacola area safely and securely. In 2016, PWGC donated $3456 to GCKH. The goal for 2017 is $5000.

Pensacola businesses can partner with Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast in raising funds for the Gulf Coast Kids House in the following ways: providing door prizes, being an event sponsor, signing up for a vendor table or purchasing a ticket in someone’s name so they have an opportunity to attend the Conference.

Highlights of the conference, which receive rave reviews each year, include Experience Hall, an interactive Speed Learning session, and relevant and engaging speakers featuring a national keynote speaker and 3 local community leaders. Ticket prices include lunch and am/pm snack breaks.

Pursue Your Passion Conference consists of 2 events:

1. Meet the Speaker and Sponsors Expo is held the evening prior to the conference. It creates opportunities for attendees to network with one another, engage with the featured speakers and learn more about the conference sponsors and vendors. It also provides sponsors and vendors additional face to face time with attendees to highlight their businesses and products. This event is open to both men and women. If you are interested in a vendor table, you can find details on vendor tables on our Sponsorship Opportunities flier.

PED Talks – Professional and Executive Development – PED Talks are short, power-packed presentations by local community leaders sharing their thoughts on subjects important to women in business. This year we are proud to present our PED Talk speakers:

PED Talk Speaker – Quint Studer, Founder and CEO, Studer Community Institute ● “Even High Performers Struggle with Change” ● Program description: Individuals who have always performed highly can sometimes underestimate the impact that change will have on them. Through Quint’s work with organizations over the decades he has found high performers struggle with change even more so than others. Quint will describe why this is and what can be done to help high performers manage change.

PED Talk Speaker – Sue Straughn, News Anchor and Senior Editor, WEAR TV, Channel 3 ● “Let Your Passion Find Your Purpose.” ● Program description: You give your best and you give your most when you’re giving from the heart. Is your heart in the work that you do; in the service that you give? We will take just a minute to think about some ways to get the most out of our time, our resources and our life.

PED Talk Speaker – Andrea Krieger, Executive Director of Institutional Development. Pensacola State College Foundation ● “You CHOOSE (Motivated by Fear/Inspired by Excellence) No one can be a better YOU!” ● Program description: Is fear negative and inspiration positive? If you get sweaty palms each time you have to present to an audience… if you get butterflies when you have to pitch an idea or make a sale… if you spend additional hours ensuring work is “perfect” before you hand it in… are these indications of fear or inspiration? Is one good and the other bad? Both fear and inspiration can reap excellence, but there can be diverse consequences on individuals depending on how the motivation is viewed. This presentation will discuss whether it is better to strive for excellence or fear failure? When inspiration is founded in a belief that No one can be a better YOU, possibilities are limitless.

Tax Status – PWGC is a recognized Florida NOT for profit. We are not a 501c or similar but we are still recognized as a not-for-profit. Sponsorships are recorded by the donor as business expenses, professional development, or other category depending on their own internal financial regulations.

t began as a concept in early 2003 in Atlanta GA, due to schooling family and recovery from the dot.com crash. The Idea was scrapped until early 2008. When life resettled, the approach was to create stories on vinyl stickers and apparel.
In 2009 through hidden success of association with “another” familiar in the Dark Arts of Storytelling, most people in general thought we were reselling RAZRWING under another name, and most people thought we were already an established brand in a store. In June of 2015 We had done a Press release to anticipate the Coming of the Company Magic Leap, s that showed off Our early concepts of a behavioral retail game using Augmented Reality, examples of interactions such as Hostile, Friendly, and Neutral
During that time we relocated and based our operations in Brisbane CA. As of 2017 we have come full circle with our operations based in Duluth,GA.
In the last nine years the definition of “Story Gaming Apparel” hasn’t changed really.  We have somehow been ahead of the curve and thought other companies would be adopting the technology.  Companies that were based in, virtual, augmented, and mixed reality and applying it to storytelling through 3D modeling animation, interactive gaming, and interactive avatar storytelling on Apparel and Accessories.
So to be clear we are building original storytelling that will be experienced only in retail for apparel and accessories through the use of augmented, mixed reality and soon to come, XR technology (no glassware needed ) not based off traditional video or mobile games or movies. James DeStafney/Love Gun KISS Tribute Band
Nicole Dickson / Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre
The Band

LOVE GUN is a KISS tribute band comprised of 4 hard-working, very hard core KISS fans brought together with one goal in mind…to bring the full and authentic 1970’s concert-style KISS show back to big audiences.

The Drive

With great passion for the music, detail, choreography, characters, costumes and equipment, LOVE GUN is everything that ever made a KISS show such a special live performance.

The Tribute

From the explosive opening guitar riff to the guitar smashing climax, LOVE GUN audiences will say “WOW”! Everyone will leave after a LOVE GUN show believing that they have just seen KISS perform.

Band Members

Russ Stanley

“If I could travel back in time to only one day in the past, I would go back to a day in the summer of 1977. That is when I first saw KISS. The “Love Gun” album had just been released and KISS was on tour. I was completely awed by what I had just seen and heard. The flames were so tall I could feel the heat even from 20 rows back. Girls all around me were screaming as Gene stalked the stage. Ace’s guitar seemed to explode in a cloud of smoke. Peter was thundering on the drums. Paul Stanley became my hero as he was the best of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Alice Cooper all in body. I want each and every person that sees LOVE GUN perform to feel just the same as I did back in 1977. I want everyone to experience the rush of being sweaty, ears ringing, hair full of confetti, covered in stage blood and catching a “LOVE GUN” guitar pick in their hands! We have cut no corners putting this tribute band together. We have worked on the details and rehearsed long hours to bring you the very best. LOVE GUN began as just a dream many, many years ago. Now, through our passion and dedication we bring you LOVE GUN!”

James Simmons

“Once upon a time (circa 1978), there was this little kid watching TV one afternoon…a little kid absolutely mesmerized by what he saw and heard coming through the television set. He watched in wide-eyed amazement as four masked musicians delivered a sonic and visual assault on the senses unlike anything he had ever experienced before. Was it rock & roll? Was it science fiction? Was it horror? Was it fantasy? It was all this and more. It was KISS, and it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. To say that KISS had an impact on me would definitely be an understatement. They were the reason I developed an interest in music early on, and they continue to inspire me to this day. Though I’ve always been a guitarist in bands I’ve played in, I always thought it would be a lot of fun to play “Gene” in a KISS tribute act. Just when I figured it probably wasn’t much more than a pipe dream, I saw LOVE GUN’s ad searching for a bassist. I knew it was time to pick up the bass. I knew I had to call the number. After a fortuitous meeting and audition with the band, I am happy to call LOVE GUN home. What can an audience expect from a LOVE GUN show? The same thing that drew me to KISS all those years ago. Fun and pure escapist entertainment for anyone hungry for KISS. Could LOVE GUN possibly have an ulterior motive? Absolutely. Call it selfish, but we do this for ourselves too! This is for all the KISS fans. There is a kinship among KISS fans unlike that of any other group. We’re all in this together, so come celebrate the KISS legacy with us. LOVE GUN wants you…see you at the show!”

Jr. Criss

“I am what the other guys in the band refer to as a casual KISS fan. To me, KISS was just that band from the 70’s that wore makeup. I really didn’t start paying any attention to music until the 80’s when I started on the drums. Sure I had played KISS songs in cover bands, but since joining LOVE GUN I am discovering just how brutal KISS was. Ironically, Peter Criss was a huge influence on most of the drummers that I looked up to in the eighties. Now I worship at the altar of Peter Criss. His book ‘From Makeup to Breakup’ is my bible. My name in the band is Junior Criss so I can carry on the moniker. Peter Criss provided the heart and soul of KISS in the seventies and their impact from then is still alive today. Portraying the iconic figures of KISS in full costume and makeup is a new experience for me in my musical career. When we step up on that stage, its because we wanted the best and we are the best…’you pull the trigger of my Looove, Love Guunnnn!!!!!!’ ”

Paul Frehley

“I was born with a guitar in my hand, much to the chagrin of my mother, and I grew to live and breathe hard rock, also to the chagrin of my mother. I didn’t start out as a KISS fan, but after plowing through KISS’s extensive catalog I was continually blown away by their musicianship, and the guitar pyrotechnics of Ace Frehley. From kill switch effects to finger-tapping, Ace pioneered many effects that players like Eddy Van Halen and Dimebag Darrell would later copy. All my influences worshiped Ace, and I see why. Graduating from the University of West Florida with a degree in classical guitar performance, I immediately sought to play as much live music as I could to make use of my thousands of dollars in tuition. I found that my favorite music to play was good old head banging riff based rock, but I also had a penchant for theatrics and performance. When I was asked to join LOVE GUN, I knew my passions were about to collide in an explosion of classic rock awesomeness. I can’t wait to see you at a show! Hold those lighters high!”
