Carl Schuessler/Mitigate Partners

Mitigate Partners is an intentionally small “concierge” consulting firm offering a unique approach to benefits management to a select group of clients. Mitigate Partners provide insurance, risk management, cost containment, and employee benefits consulting services. They have chosen collaboration over competition and maintain healthy relationships with a cadre’ of like-minded consultants and resources throughout the region. Being open to and encouraging the ideas of others allows them to remain on the cutting edge of thinking in their area of expertise, rather than developing the myopic view of the world that so often occurs in single source benefit brokerage shops.

By serving as a fiduciary and steward of their client’s health plan dollars, and focusing on how to reduce the cost of healthcare (rather than the cost of insurance), they operate more as Population Health Managers rather than as “Brokers”, allowing their team to specialize in cost containment and risk mitigation strategies that result in dramatic reductions in the overall health plan spending of their clients. More than 100 years of combined experience in benefit planning, allows Mitigate Partners to offer clients improved cash flow, “employer friendly health plans”, and lower cost trends over time.

Having spent the past six years deeply engaged in research also makes Mitigate Partners sought-after speakers and authors as well. Their recent speaking engagements have led them to the National Community Pharmacy Association as well as to the Substance Use and the Workplace Community Forum (Opioid Abuse) in Morganton, NC which included North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein in the speaking lineup. Click here to see their interview at the 14th Annual World Healthcare Congress.

Susan Boland Butts & Keith Fenton/Hi-Hope Service Center

Hi-Hope Service Center provides weekday, residential, and employment services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They operate a weekday program intended to help individuals to be active participants in the life of their community, including many opportunities for them to make a contribution through volunteering. Hi-Hope Service Center supports individuals seeking competitive employment by helping to reduce the barriers that often times keep them from successfully obtaining and maintaining a job. They operate five group homes nestled in neighborhoods throughout Gwinnett County. Providing round the clock staff ensures that individuals can live in their home over the long term, including aging in place. Hi-Hope believes that their work ensures that adults with developmental disabilities have every opportunity to show themselves as vital contributors to our diverse community.

Atlanta United

Atlanta United played its inaugural season in 2017 with record breaking attendance numbers and became the first expansion team to qualify for MLS Cup Playoffs since 2009. The club’s average attendance was higher than every MLS, NBA, NHL and MLB team in 2017. On March 11, 2018 Atlanta United broke the MLS single-game attendance record for the third time, welcoming 72,035 fans to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It was the fourth-largest soccer crowd in the world that weekend. Atlanta United and Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host the 2018 MLS All-Star Game on Aug. 1.

Atlanta United 2

In January, 2018 Atlanta United launched its United Soccer League (USL) team ATL UTD 2. The team will play its home matches at Gwinnett County’s Coolray Field. ATL UTD 2 will help bridge the pathway from Academy to First Team, allowing the club to develop younger players in its system. ATL UTD 2 will allow academy players experience at the professional level while also giving First Team players an opportunity to stay match fit and when returning from injury. The ATL UTD 2 roster is a blend of local talent and seasoned pros coached by Scott Donnelly, former assistant coach of the U-18 Men’s National Team.

Marsha Anderson Bomar/Four Forks and Madcaps

Four Forks and Madcaps specialize in offering unique cuisine from four regions in the United States, which is why their name is Four Forks! Their Chef trained with the best and has created a delightful menu with dishes and flavors from here in the South, as well as the Midwest, Northeast, and the West. At Four Forks, you can take a cross-country foodie trip without leaving home. From fried green tomatoes and BBQ shrimp and grits to Scottish Red steelhead and hearty lamb chops and so much more, your taste buds will be pleased every visit and leave you craving more. Check out all of the dishes prepared in their wood-fired oven, including the 2017 Best in Atlanta MacNCheese.

Marlene Kelly & Lynn Hale/Exhibits South

Established in 1983, Exhibits South is a full service design and development firm that specializes in creative marketing and sales for trade show floor exhibits and office environments. Family owned and operated by Marlene Kelly, Exhibits South CEO, and daughters Stacey and Nikki, the company is revolutionizing the industry with over 80% of its business in returning clients and referrals.

Missy Burgess/Lanier Islands

Nestled on the southern-most shoreline of Lake Sidney Lanier at the foothills of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains lies the truly distinctive Lanier Islands. Situated less than 45 miles from downtown Atlanta on 1500 pristine acres of forests, meadows, and beaches, this luxury resort is quickly growing in size, scope, and reputation as one of the Southeast’s leading lakeside retreats. As the resort’s crown jewel, Lake Lanier is one of the United States’ most popular man-made lakes, encompassing 38,000 surface acres and 690 miles of shoreline in northeast Georgia. Legacy Lodge, villas, and lakehouses enhance the park’s broad assortment of accommodation choices and meeting sites, making it the ideal choice for corporate meetings and company retreats. Popular excursions like fun in the sun at the boardwalk-themed LanierWorld, zip-lining through the trees with Lake Lanier Canopy Tours, horseback riding on a lakeside trail from the Equestrian Center, and renting a boat from Harbor Landing, make the islands a terrific choice for families vacationing or “staycationing” in the South. Tranquility the Spa and the picturesque 18-hole Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course are major draws for visitors looking to relax or play, and with more than 20 wedding venues to choose from, the Resort is rapidly gaining favor with brides and grooms as a highly sought-after destination wedding site.
