Since the inception of the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce in 1954, the purpose has remained the same; increase prosperity and promote and better community life for all. Our organization continues to be the leader in economic development, advocacy on issues of interest to business and engaging business leaders to ensure the long term economic health of our community.
Forsyth County is located just northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. The County was partitioned in 1832 from a section of Cherokee County territory along with nine other counties in the area. Forsyth County was named for John Forsyth, Governor of Georgia from 1827 – 1829.
Cumming and Forsyth County, Georgia are consistently ranked among the most desirable communities in the nation. World class schools, nationally recognized parks, over 200 miles of lake shore line, the lowest property taxes in the region and a vibrant business community are the primary factors that earn the community accolades year after year.

Bald Ridge Lodge is a non-profit in Cumming, GA providing a 12-bed Group Home and Community Based Services. The Group Home serves young men (age 12 to 21) who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect, while the Community Based Services serve youth and families in the community in need of support. The services offered through Community Based services include Case Management Services, Nurtured Heart Approach (TM) training for caregivers, and an Independent Living Program in development. Their mission is to provide safe and stable support to young men in the Group Home, Independent Living Program, and Community Based Services, in a manner that nurtures the youth, strengthens healthy relationships, and aids young men in their transition to adulthood. Family Promise of Forsyth County, Inc. serves families who are experiencing homelessness. In cooperation with community churches and volunteers, they provide a safe place to stay and meals along with programs and supports to help the families gain or regain sustainable independence.

They strive for their families to attain sustainable independence. Therefore, each family works on personalized, weekly goals to provide them the knowledge and skills needed to be successful. Each family is also provided a mentor who will continue to work with the family beyond graduation to be a support and a link to additional services they may need.

In the past 23 years they have seen tremendous growth in response to the changing needs in our community. The now have a new shelter that has the capacity to serve 12 girls, and the average length of stay in this past year was 11.4 months. Rupal began his prosecution career as an Assistant Solicitor-General for the DeKalb County Solicitor General’s Office prosecuting cases in State Court. He then, practiced law in Forsyth County, with expertise in civil litigation, mediation & criminal defense. As an attorney with Jarrard & Davis, he sharpened his civil litigation skills. Rupal holds his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from GA Tech and completed Law School at GA State University College of Law. Rupal is a frequent lecturer on legal topics at legal seminars. Rupal is active in the community through his volunteer efforts. He is an executive board member for the United Way of Forsyth County, a board member for the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, and continues to serve as a volunteer attorney coach at Forsyth Central High School, to name a few. Rupal is also a husband and father.

Byron Gatewood Candidate for U.S. Congress (GA 6th District)

Byron is a U.S. Army officer, small business owner, loving husband and father and devoted Christian. Byron enlisted in the National Guard as a college student in the wake of the September 11^th attacks and was deployed to Afghanistan during what would have been his junior year. Upon returning, he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU), and earned a commission on to active duty. Byron served as an intelligence officer abroad and partnered with the Israel Defense Forces and our NATO allies in efforts to make the Middle East more secure for Americans and our allies. After a decade on active duty, Byron attended Cornell University earning an MBA. He owns and operates two small businesses that employ over two dozen Georgians. Active within the community, he serves as the managing director at a local nonprofit, where he works to create jobs and opportunities for adults on the autism spectrum.
