The 2025 SHRM-Atlanta HR Conference was held March 25-26 at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, GA. SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) is a professional human resources membership association that promotes the role of HR as a profession and provides resources, advocacy, and networking opportunities to its members. Riptide, LLC and Gwinnett Business RadioX were on site to interview several participating members, vendors, and HR experts.

Tom Darrow

Tom Darrow is the Founder and Principal of Talent Connections, LLC (www.talentconnections.net). Since 1999, the Atlanta based professional services firm has specialized in recruiting—including recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), executive search, HR consulting, and contract recruiting. Current and past clients include The Coca Cola Company, Habitat for Humanity International, Cingular, ADP, Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte, Newell Rubbermaid, Microsoft, McKesson, and Emory Healthcare. Tom lives in Murphy, NC and Smyrna, GA with his wife Anne and their three dogs and parrot. He enjoys golf, Notre Dame football, Christian music, shows at the Fox and Alliance theaters, eBay shopping, spending time with family and friends, and comedy. In 2004 he made his stand-up comedy debut at The Punch Line, the premier comedy club in the Southeast. Tom is also a minority owner of the World Champion Green Bay Packers.

Teela Jackson

Teela Jackson focuses on recruitment of executive level Human Resources professionals for Talent Connections. Teela has more than ten years in agency and corporate recruiting in the areas of human resources, information technology, accounting, legal, marketing, procurement, and engineering and has proven ability in sourcing and placing top talent across industry lines, at all levels.

Teela earned her Masters of Business Administration – Management from Mercer University and her Bachelors of Science – Human Resources from The University of Tennessee. A native of Nashville, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, reading, making beaded jewelry and is active in her church.

He’s a leader in SHRM-Atlanta where he’s served as past two-year President of SHRM-Atlanta, SHRM at the national level, currently serves on the SHRM Foundation Board and is Chair of the Board of the Inward Bound Center for Nonprofit Leadership. Tom’s specialties focus in the areas of Human Resources, Professional Services, Non-profits and Christian ministries. He’s also Founder and President of the Atlanta HR Prayer Breakfast.

Pam Beckerman/ Vice President, Human Resources for Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce

Pam Beckerman is a seasoned HR executive who partners with business leaders to advance strategic objectives by unleashing the talent and potential of employee communities. Currently the Vice President, HR for the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Pam has lead programs encompassing the complete employee life cycle. She has designed and implemented hiring, performance management, rewards, retention, leadership development, employee reduction, and organizational development programs in the consulting, banking and education industries. Under her leadership, Kurt Salmon Associates, where she was the top talent executive for 12 years, earned accolades as one of the Top Ten Consulting Firms to Work For for six consecutive years. She coaches individuals and teams on setting and achieving goals and working collaboratively and compassionately with colleagues to solve a wide range of business and career challenges.

Pam holds a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a Masters in Organizational Communication from the University of California at Santa Barbara. A member of SHRM, she lives in Marietta and enjoys volunteering, hiking by the Chattahoochee with her family, and reading.
