Since 1992, Women in Technology has had a mission dedicated to promoting the advancement of women in Georgia’s technology community. Through the WIT COMMUNITY, WIT also educates and encourages girls and young women to pursue careers in STEAM.

Stefanie Jewett is the founder and CEO of Activvely, the premiere social-pairing app that connects you with platonic fitness buddies. After five years of covering hard news at CNN her creativity breached the spillway and Activvely was born.

A Miami native, Stefanie grew up in a Spanish-speaking household, her Cuban roots never too far from her heart. Living in Central Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. inspired her to pursue a journalism career in earnest. This passion for news would see her at the U.S. Congress , National Republican Senatorial Committee, WSET, the Alliance to Save Energy and eventually landing a job at CNN.

Working on several projects and shows including Crossfire and the Situation Room, she held her own among the most elite journalists at the World Headquarters and the Washington D.C. bureau. Stefanie returned to Atlanta with a singular goal: to lift the stigma off swipe platforms solely being used for dating and help the people of this vibrant city connect. Her commitment to building intentional and impactful communities led her to create, Startup Sisters USA, a space where women of wild ambition can come together and collaborate.

Most recently, Stefanie was selected for Atlanta Tech Village’s “It Takes a Village” pre-accelerator, and as one of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s #ChooseATL Influencers for 2019. She is also a graduate of the City of Atlanta’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI ‘18), and LaunchPad2x.

Since 1992, Women in Technology has had a mission dedicated to promoting the advancement of women in Georgia’s technology community. Through the WIT COMMUNITY, WIT also educates and encourages girls and young women to pursue careers in STEAM.

Jill_ArcadioJill Arcadio is a Georgia native – raised in Valdosta, graduated from Mercer University in Macon, and currently lives in Lawrenceville. She is a Software Engineering Manager at Cox Automotive and the WIT Girl’s Volunteer Program Director.

When Jill attended her first WIT Forum in 2014, she came away from it deeply inspired. She wanted to work with or work for every woman who spoke at the event. Seeing so many women in attendance supporting each other and working toward the same goals opened her eyes to the opportunities this organization offered. Once Jill started volunteering with WIT Girls, she saw the difference we could make (and have already made) in encouraging young girls to pursue STEAM in school and in their future careers.

Her favorite part of every WIT Girls event is seeing how excited everyone is about learning new ideas, trying out new technologies, and sharing their love of STEAM with other girls who are just as passionate as they are! Growing up, Jill had some amazing female role models, and would not be who she is today without their influence. Jill said, “If I have the opportunity to be a role model for even one girl, I feel like I will have made a difference!”

Stephanie_ColemanStephanie C. Coleman, a mother of two teenagers, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated in the first graduating class of Westlake High School. She holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. During her senior year she was elected Senior of the Year for the Society of Management Information Systems. She is currently a Director of Digital Communications with responsibilities for a popular Georgia company’s website, email marketing, and social media presence.

Ms. Coleman rose through the ranks at Arthur Andersen, LLP from application developer in their Tax Solutions organization to project manager in the Business Consulting organization over an eight-year tenure. She flexed her entrepreneurial muscles by creating a small web design, development, and maintenance company that she developed over a ten-year period. While growing the small business, Ms. Coleman began working as a quality assurance manager and senior application developer at a small human resources software development company.

Ms. Coleman was introduced to Women in Technology when she became a 2013 Woman of the Year finalist while she was working as Director of Web Services at Southern Polytechnic State University. Since that time, she has explored multiple opportunities to volunteer within WIT, landing as the Campus Manager for WIT Campus at Kennesaw State University for the past two years. Through Women in Technology and WIT Campus at KSU, Ms. Coleman has been able to marry
her love of STEAM and desire to mentor others in their technology career journey.
