Dave is the former CIO of UPS after starting his career as a loader/packer. Dave is not only a great business success but he is one of Atlanta’s most giving community servants by giving his time and resources to the United Way of Atlanta, TechBridge and the Georgia CIO Leadership Association.

Jeremy Stratton has been the CEO of the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce since April 2016. Stratton has over 20 years of chamber and economic development experience from positions he held across the southeast.

During his career, Stratton has recruited and located forty-three manufacturing and commercial companies to the community he served resulting in a total capital investment of $650 million and the creation of over 6,500 jobs. He has worked with companies, such as Kimberly-Clark, FedEx, Cheesecake Factory Bakery, Abbott Laboratories, Universal Leaf, Japan Tobacco, Conifex, and Com40 (Ikea).

Stratton has a wide variety of working experience. He has worked for regional economic development organizations in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. While in Virginia from 2007-2014, he worked for Danville as the City’s Economic Development Director. During his tenure he managed business parks, recruited business and industry, led the redevelopment efforts of downtown Danville, and chaired and designed the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance in response to the Governor’s request for regional participation.

From 2014 – 2016, Stratton was the President and CEO of the El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce where he led both the chamber and economic development functions. Stratton combined the economic development efforts of the city and county.

Stratton has a Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Urban and Regional Planning, and has been a Certified Economic Developer since June 2009.

Lisa J. Smith serves as Regional Director for Georgia Power’s Metro South Region, where she leads the company’s operations serving more than 265,000 customers in metro Atlanta’s Southern Crescent. She is responsible for region operations, sales, customer service, economic and community development, and external affairs activities. Smith began her career with Georgia Power’s sister utility, Mississippi Power, as an engineer in 1993. She transferred to Georgia Power in 1997, where she has held positions of increasing responsibility in distribution, sales and region operations, serving as area manager in Waynesboro and Newnan.

Prior to her current role, Smith served as assistant to the senior vice president of Metro Atlanta Region, where she provided support for the company’s operations, sales, customer service, economic and community development, and external affairs activities for 1.2 million customers.

A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University. She has served as a member of the board of directors for various organizations across the state. Presently she serves as a member of the board of directors for Arts Clayton, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Business Coalition.

Sandy D. Welfare is the Executive Director of Women In Technology (WIT). Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of Cool Girls Inc, an award-winning early intervention after-school program dedicated to the empowerment of girls (2009-2015).

Sandy’s career began in 1989 in Greenwich, Connecticut where she joined Rand Insurance as the Controller. Six years later, she accepted a position with Lucent Technologies, an international telecommunications leader, holding a number of positions including serving as Accounting and Treasury Manager in Singapore (1999-2000) and then as Senior Manager in Australia and New Zealand (2000-2002). Sandy returned to Atlanta in 2002 as Senior Manager of Global Financial Services.

In 2003, Sandy accepted a position as Director of Operations for Xchanging, a business processing outsourcing company. In 2006, her career took her to London, England as Managing Director for professional services, where she managed global business processing services for bank financial transactions, insurance and retail.

Sandy received her undergraduate degree from St. John’s University in New York, and a Master of Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. Mindy Godwin is the president of her family owned and operated company, American Reprographics Corporation. ARC opened it’s doors in September 1978 when her father Steve Hamburger saw an opportunity in the toner and ink industry when Xerox lost an antitrust suit and had to divulge all of their patents and secrets about toner. At the time Xerox was in control of all of the ink on the market and this gave way to other companies to come in and market Xerox’s technology with a private label, saving company’s upwards of 40-60% on printer, copier and fax ink. Now this also opened the doors to a lot of inferior products as well and if you know the phrase toner pirate, this is where that came from. Bad products came out, ink that would open in your machines causing damage and it really gave so many companies who were doing the right thing, a bad name. Frankly people were scared to buy toner that wasn’t OEM, (Original Equipment Manufacture). Luckily American Reprographics always stayed ahead of the curve and they kept their name free of any bad publicity. Let’s face it, talk is cheap so for many years, and even today when they need to, they offer free evaluations on all of their compatible toner cartridges to prove that their word is valid. They not only have compatibles available but all name brands as well. They want companies to save money on ink when they can so ARC always offers an alternative if one is available for their toner. They steer clear from compatible color toner and never suggest buying compatible inkjet cartridges, even more they don’t ever suggest buying remanufactured toner unless you’re an environmentalist but if you are just wanting to save money, this isn’t the way. You’ll end up spending more on replacing your printers. They can thank Xerox for all of the printer and copier technology out there. HP, Lexmark, Canon, Brother, you name it, all the technology stems from Xerox.

Milton J. Little, Jr. was appointed as President of the United Way of Greater Atlanta after serving as President and CEO of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley. He has devoted many of his 20 years in the public and private sectors to creating workforce and educational programs, building national partnerships to fund housing, and developing corporate philanthropy and community involvement strategies.

Prior to joining the United Way system, Little served as interim President and CEO of the National Urban League in New York where he launched innovative partnerships with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Labor and Commerce Departments, as well as with corporations. Little came to the League from Lucent Technologies, which he joined while it was still part of AT&T. The philanthropic strategies he developed at Lucent and AT&T became the forerunners of many programs that today are reducing disparities in education, employment, income and health in communities nationwide.

Matt Lanford is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of InComm’s Financial Services team. Lanford came to InComm from MasterCard Worldwide, where he was Senior Vice President – ESS, Processing and Network Solutions Lead, North America. Cristina Chalanczuk was born in Argentina and raised in California. She has been married for 35 years, 25 of those years were lived in Argentina. Having to manage household finances in a foreign country opened her eyes to the importance of having a system and saving as much money as possible in order to enjoy the finer things in life. Cristina has a political science major and has had two other successful businesses: The Language Studio (teaching English as a second language) and VIP Travel Company (travel agency based out of Argentina). Since she was raised in the USA by her parents, who were immigrants, she saw the American dream from the bottom up and knew that it was alive and well today. Kolleen Edwards Chesley has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and spent the majority of her career as a financial advisor. In that role, Kolleen was responsible for finding her own clients and quickly learned the value of networking, networking, and even more networking. It was in 2004 and during her sales career that she, along with two other professional business women met for lunch with the purpose of helping to motivate each other after Hurricane Ivan had blown through our area and changed not only the physical landscape of the area, but also impacted the business landscape as well. Out of that lunch was born what is now a thriving not-for-profit organization for business women.

Kolleen currently serves full-time as the Founding Director of what was originally called Women’s Business Lunch and is now known as Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast. The organization advocates a culture of confidence building, lifelong learning, collaboration, empowering others and a spirit of charitable giving.

The mission of Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is to promote, advance and improve women in business and the organization accomplishes these in a number of different ways.

– Monthly networking meetings in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. These are open to all women and are free to attend. We run a structured meeting with open networking, an educational segment, a sponsor presentation, an opportunity to hear about the businesses of all attendees, and a whole lot of fun. We frequently hear from attendees that these meeting are chock full of value and a great way to build new relationships to help support their businesses. The Pensacola meetings include lunch paid for by our sponsors.

– Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast Magazine. We have produced 4 editions of this print magazine. Each edition features interviewees of local successful leaders in business who share their honest thoughts on leadership, success, obstacles, and inspiration as it relates to women in business. We also include other articles on leadership, networking, and other skill development. It is geared for anyone in business or looking for business motivation and tips. Our goal is for this to be a quarterly publication, however the magazine is currently on hold as we explore graphic designers. Our latest edition can still be found on our website.

– Annual Pursue Your Passion Women’s conference. To help celebrate National Business Women’s Week, we hold a full day conference during the third week of October along with several other events leading up to the conference. We feature a national keynote speaker, several local successful leaders in business, along with Speed Networking, an Experience Hall, structured and unstructured networking exercises and plenty of laughter, relationship building and excitement. Our attendees are not only motivated by the conference but they leave with tangible tips they can take back and implement in their businesses to lead them to success. For 2018, our conference will be held on Wednesday, October 17^th and Thursday, October 18^th, 2018 at Sanders Beach.

– Power Up Challenge is a 12 week educational series where we hold classes once a week for two hours. Classes focused around four main areas of business: Networking, Marketing, Business Efficiency, and Sales Skills. Open to men and women and all classmates receive the full audio recording of each class along with class notes, expanded notes, and extra resources. Remote classes also available. Classes are affordable and attendees are elated with the amount and quality of the information that is shared.

– Women in Leadership radio podcast show – sponsored by Pensacola Business Radio X. We hold monthly shows featuring local community leaders and other men and women in business. We engage our guests in conversational style in-depth interviews. They share their advice on topics such as mentoring, keys to success, time management tools, personal mantras and favorite inspirations, and what men can do to help support women in business.
