Bill Schindler/Hyperbaric PHP

Bill is a dynamic speaker who shares his experience and knowledge to educate groups and individuals across the country regarding the potential benefit of increasing oxygen to the body at the cellular level through the utilization of mild HYPERBARIC Therapy (mHBT), portable mild Hyperbaric Chambers . He presents at seminars, conventions and functions from those involving former, current and future professional athletes, trainers and sports health care providers to individuals interested in improving or maintaining their health, anti-ageing and those with specific diseases and conditions. Bill works with more professional athletes from a variety of sports than anyone else in the country and integrates the relationships he builds to bringing attention to his passion… working with adults and children with “special needs”. Bill started one of the first mHBT clinics in the country over 18 years ago and is now working with many of today’s leading doctors.

At Hyperbaric PHP, they believe in making hyperbaric therapy accessible to those who can benefit from increased oxygen as part of an affordable personal health and wellness program. Due to major advances in the science and technology of hyperbaric chambers, they can offer this treatment in their clinic at a reasonable cost.

Marsha Anderson Bomar/Gateway85 CID

The CID is a special benefit district that works to increase property values, promote economic development and improve the overall quality of life in the southwest portion of Gwinnett County, including portions of Norcross and Peachtree Corners.

The Gateway85 Community Improvement District (CID) is the largest single CID in the state of Georgia. They are a public-private partnership funded by commercial property owners in the 14-square mile area spanning the I-85 corridor in southwest Gwinnett County. Formed in 2005, the formerly named Gwinnett Village CID represents more than 550 owners, accounting for more than $1 billion in commercial property value. Three thousand six hundred businesses employ almost 40,000 workers within the CID, making the district one of metro Atlanta’s most important employment centers.

Gateway85 is the threshold between the city of Atlanta and its largest suburban county, Gwinnett. They work to increase commercial property values in the district by promoting redevelopment and new business, investing in infrastructure improvements that enable safe travel by bike or on foot, enhancing public safety with sidewalks and crosswalks, and creating an attractive roadside landscape that makes traveling, living and working in our district a pleasure.

Ben Sawyer with SOAR Vision Group

In part 2 of the Innovation discussion Ben and Duffie are joined by Roger Spoelman SVP, Strategic and Operational Integration, Trinity health, CEO Mercy Health, and interim CEO Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. (Roger is Ben’s executive coach). In part 1 of this 2-part Innovation series, Roger can be seen in the Mercy Health video explaining why all great transformations have necessitated innovation. Under his leadership, the Innovation Hub was born as a renaissance zone for Trinity Health, and the Innovative Primary Clinic was born based upon the innovation thinking and application of human centered design by the Innovation Hub team.

In part 2 we pick up where we left off discussing how success is truly on the far side of failure. Roger shares how the innovation process encourages people to think outside of the box to achieve break-throughs. How appropriately messy the process can be, and how it is essential to any organization positioning themselves for the future.

Listen in to learn…

  • What true innovation looks like
  • Further information about setting up ‘innovation zones’ and why they are necessary to support and protect outside-the-box thinking
  • How the average leader can become transformational if given the freedom and support to innovate, and look at the problem through an entirely different human systems lens

In part 1 of the Innovation discussion, hosts Ben Sawyer and Jennifer Strahan introduce the Mercy Health innovation case study (introductory video included). All great transformations have necessitated innovation. For example, Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” And, he was fired from his first two jobs for being “non-productive.” Clearly his teachers and employers did not understand the process of innovation. As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”

Success is on the far side of failure. How can we avoid, like Edison’s teachers and employers, the potential of sacrificing innovative break-throughs due to productivity and/or budget constraints?

Listen in to learn…

  • Why innovation is essential for transformation
  • How the Mercy Health team applied human centered design innovation to transform Primary Care practice, improving patient and provider satisfaction, quality, and productivity as a result
  • Why “innovation zones” are necessary to support and protect thinking outside the box
  • How servant leaders support innovation and workforce empowerment
  • How innovation can be the difference between success and failure
