Jon Deiter has worked for over 30 years in leadership positions in privately held and family owned entrepreneurial businesses as well as smaller divisions of public companies. He earned an MBA in Finance from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois and he is a CPA with Accreditation in Business Valuation and Certified Global Management Accountant. He has held positions in a variety of industries as Tax Advisor, Consultant, Controller, Vice President, CFO, and President.

In 2014, Jon was working on the leadership team of a company which began implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®). Jon experienced first-hand the value and power of EOS and its simple tools to establish a clear vision, gain traction toward that vision, and grow a healthy team

Jon came to realize his true motivation and passion ….. to help many more companies achieve great things through implementing EOS! He was trained as a Professional EOS Implementer and since 2015 has been working with organizations to help them implement EOS. Dr. Amy Hogan earned a BS in Elementary Education with a concentration in Vocal Music and a MLA from Baker University. She earned her PhD with a specialization in Advanced Classroom Instruction from Capella University. Her research focused on the relationship between preservice teachers and mentor teachers. Dr. Hogan served on the KS Regulations Board for teacher education, workgroups for the KEEP and KPTP evaluation tools, KS Teacher of the Year selection committees, task-forces for the Military Childhood Coalition, as a reviewer for NCATE and CAEP, and chaired a committee charged with revising the KS elementary education teacher licensure standards.

Her background includes mission coordination in the Tennessee Cumberland region, classroom teaching in the Shawnee-Mission School District, grant writing, developing small business enterprises, supporting programing for military families and children, and consulting in technology education and teacher assessment. While teaching in Shawnee-Mission, she was awarded twice West Antioch Elementary teacher of the year. Dr. Hogan has presented at numerous regional and national educational conferences, including TECHLearning. She has administered several grants in technology and teacher education preparation. One of these grant projects regarding parent-community-school involvement is featured in the Harvard Family Research archives.

Prior to becoming the inaugural dean for the Surprise, Arizona campus as well as the Dean of Arizona, Dr. Hogan served as Dean for the School of Education.

Dr. Lily Davidov joined Ottawa University Department of Business in 2013 as adjunct faculty and in Summer 2017 merged into the Ottawa Surprise Campus as a Business Faculty and Adawe Mentor. Prior to that, Dr. Davidov was a full time Professor of Accounting at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott Campus.

Dr. Davidov completed her formal studies of the Doctor of Business of Administration and her dissertation was on Entrepreneurial Orientation as a strategic initiative of the firm.

Dr. Davidov comes from a long heritage of international entrepreneurs and is fluent in Russian. While her professional experience includes many years in retail business where she enjoyed running and operating businesses; teaching, mentoring, and coaching is her passion.

David Barnes is the Executive Director of University Advancement of Ottawa University Arizona, with emphases in external relations, resourcing, new markets, marketing, and spiritual life. Adam McCown was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. After graduating from Baylor University, he moved to Seattle and received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. Adam moved to the Ocotillo area of Chandler in 2009 where he worked in retail pharmacy prior to starting Medmetrics. Adam takes a particular interest in helping patients stay healthy, with an emphasis on functional medicine and compounding to help patients achieve their wellness goals. Nancy McCutcheon is the Community Outreach Program Manager at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center located on at the HonorHealth Shea Medical Center Campus in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nancy has worked for HonorHealth since June 2006. She began her community outreach journey over twenty years ago serving in the non-profit setting through her local church as an administrator and developing community programs. Nancy has worked in the healthcare field for over 15 years and has applied her community networking skills in her professional role to increase attendance and participation for cancer risk and prevention.

Nancy has served as the 2015 Director for Women of Scottsdale and was also named the 2016 Woman of the Year for Women of Scottsdale. As a young junior high FHA member, Nancy’s slogan, “Yesterdays Tomorrow is Today’s Beginning” became the Arkansas FHA state motto and she has held true to that passion for making change throughout the community in which she serves. Pamela Manwaring has 20 years experience within start-up and redevelopment capacities for various companies in the entertainment, media and hospitality industries where she directly impacted new channel monetization and profit performance. Ms. Manwaring held marketing positions with Activision, Mattel and Action Performance Companies managing licensed products and held key business development roles at various ad agencies. Michael Zajas is Brydant’s Chief Investment Officer. She lives in Guadalupe with her 9 children, husband, other family and many friends

Jeff Bisgrove – Jeff is the Director of Arizona Neighborhood Transformation, the organization providing support to the community development going on in Guadalupe via the Guadalupe Learning Lab. Jeff and his wife Cindy lives a few miles from Guadalupe but have become part of the larger community working to help the community of Guadalupe grow. Jeff and Cindy formed AZNT in 2011. Prior to this, Jeff working at Intel for about 25 years before leaving to focus full time on community development in Guadalupe and around the world.

Arizona Neighborhood Transformation (AZNT) and the Guadalupe Learning Lab. AZNT is a non profit corporation that exists to help community development themselves out of poverty and into wholeness. Our focus is Guadalupe, where we work through Marina Gonzales and the Guadalupe Learning Lab. In Guadalupe we run an after school tutoring program for children age 4-25. We all do summer programs, reading programs, job development, community beautification, support for families, etc – all working with the assets of the community and through the efforts of the community.

WHY BEST OF HEALTH?

I am a Physician Assistant who has been caring for patients for over 20 years and Family Practice (cradle to grave) is my specialty.

Following the footsteps of three generations of family practice physicians (my father, grandfather and great grandfather) this was a natural and genetic calling that I do not regret.

Given this, I have a unique perspective and it’s time to share that perspective through Ask the PA. As a health care provider, teacher, business owner, patient, and advocate for my family and friends throughout the years, it has been painfully apparent there are disconnects within the current state of health care in the US and throughout the world. It can be confusing and frankly very scary.

It is my goal though this series, Best of Health, to bring people together that are passionate about their roles in the business of health care… and yes, whether or not you want to hear that it’s a business, it is — and that’s the fact. I will introduce to you great, dedicated practitioners and people with a passion for getting the word out about their personal journeys and causes. I will provide information about navigating through a confusing system, asking the right questions and share ways for saving money and time along the way.

It’s time to create change by partnering, empowering, and focusing on the patient, their families and their providers of care. It’s time for you to take the driver’s seat rather than leave your health care solely in the hands of entities such as insurance companies and the pharmaceutical industry.

In 1992, Barb made the conscious decision to leave teaching and her musical career in pursuit of a career in medicine. She graduated from AT Still University’s first PA class in 1997 with a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.

Barb has spent several years working in clinics and family practices. Currently, Barb works for Premise Health at Insight Enterprises in Tempe, AZ as a solo practitioner providing primary care to employees and families on campus. She was also a partner in Renaissance Medical Group and Renaissance Medical Properties in Chandler and Maricopa, AZ and had a dual role of Chief Operations Officer and practicing PA for 14 years.

Along with being a PA, Barb is the author of the book Surviving the “Business” of Healthcare, Knowledge is Power! She is a certified Medical Professional Legal Consultant and Patient Advocate, speaker and influencer for change in healthcare for the patient, provider and family members. Barb is also certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

In her spare time, she loves to travel, maintaining an active lifestyle that includes running, biking, swimming. She loves to spend time outdoors with her family and friends, whether it’s walking on the beach or hiking in the desert.

She has sold every promotional product known to mankind in her over 22 years in the industry. Karie has worked in all aspects of the promo business including a 6 year stint with the Phoenix Suns and AZ Diamondbacks. In those many years she has developed extensive experience, industry knowledge, wonderful partnerships and strategic relationships. In 2008 she was the youngest person to be voted on to the Board of Directors for the Promotional Products Association International, by her peers. In 2009 she figured she knew enough to run her own company and hasn’t looked back. Karie is married with two beautiful daughters and one black lab named Betty.
