Ines Piquet fell in love with photography while taking a photojournalism class, and this happened twice, back in Rio, where she is from, during college in the 80’s; and in LA, when Ines was taking broadcasting classes at UCLA, a decade later. This second time got her hooked for good. She has been taking pictures since the late 90’s and started doing it professionally early 2000’s; but back then, only on a part-time basis.

Ines had a very nice job and doing photography on the side allowed her to choose the jobs she wanted to take. Ines is a black and white film photographer, who used to love getting lost in a darkroom with all those chemicals and tools. Naturally, when things turned digital she had a hard time adjusting. Photography has always been a huge passion of hers and this year Ines not only unleashed the courage to do it full-time, she also started a new genre: women magazine-inspired portraits.

This is something, fun and Ines is still in the process of building a folio. She love everything about it, from planning the shot, to shooting, to delivering the images during the viewing session. Making women feel beautiful is the greatest job ever!

Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! is celebrating 8 years as a proud Arizona Local 501c3 Non-profit. Their mission is to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer through education, prevention, direct assistance with free wigs, mammograms and treatment in Arizona.

CEO Holly Rose founded the organization after her long and intensive battle with breast cancer at the age of 38. She witnessed and experienced the lack of support and information on breast cancer and breast health in general, which brought about depression coupled with hopelessness and isolation, at the most vulnerable time in her life. With two small kiddos and a husband, Holly vowed to herself that she was not going to allow this cancer to consumer her life, nor take her from her babies. From her trials and tribulations birthed Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! in 2010. For Holly it’s about empowering women and young girls to take charge of their lives through education, prevention and awareness. Also, to help support those who are battling breast cancer, and to let them know that they are not alone and they do not have to go through it alone. That is why Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! goes out into communities and offers free mammograms, education and prevention, custom wigs and direct assistance. Because they believe that one’s health is priceless, and women should never have to choose between health or mortgage/rent etc., and awareness is power.

Over the past 7 years this organization has provided over a 1,000 custom wigs to women that are currently undergoing chemotherapy, at a cost of $250 (free of charge) and averaging one client per day. They have provided over 85 mammograms, since 2015 and over 30 women in follow-up care (diagnostic testing recommended including ultrasounds and biopsy). And have outreached to tens of thousands through their annual magazine, presentations and comprehensive workshops.

They are committed to helping youth reach their highest potential through a variety of life-transforming programs available throughout the US. Educating people about the dangers of gangs, drugs, violence, abuse and other life issues. Their focus is education and teaching the life skills needed to make changes in your life. Prevention and Intervention!

Their six-week Life Skills Intervention Program includes education and discussions on Substance Abuse Dependency, Making Decisions, Anger Management, Attitude, Behaviors, Problem Solving, Self-Improvement, Setting Goals, Identifying Strengths and Skills.

They have many mentoring programs and community service projects. These include: Feeding the homeless monthly, Ex-offender Workshops, Back to School Drives, Christmas Toy Drives, Domestic Violence Awareness Program, Goof100 Skateboard Club, Speaking engagements, Internship and Scholarship programs.
