Mycal and Nicole Anders with Next Level Performance Consulting

Mycal-AndersMycal Anders is Founder of Next Level Performance Consulting with 3700+ leaders coached since 2011. Mycal is a Performance Consultant, Marine Corps veteran, husband & father of two.

As a Marine Corps veteran with nearly 25 years of strategic leadership experience backed by multiple graduate degrees from Arizona State and Thunderbird School of Global Management, he realized the plight of leaders, people of influence, and high achievers is losing themselves in pursuit of momentous achievement. Next-Level-logo

In 2011 Mycal founded Next Level Performance Consulting to build the fittest leaders by empowering Next Level men & women to prioritize their health, eliminate stress and create alignment between their habits and behaviors! Making space to be present for the things that matter: health, wealth, relationships and time.

Mycal has been featured on the Radio Business X Podcast, Barbell Shrugged, Barbell Business, Gym Lords, Theta Wave, Paradise Valley Lifestyle Magazine, Team Red, White & Blue’s “The Eagle” Podcast, and is a regularly featured speaker for Charles Schwab and Amazon.

The Next Level mantra is “Progress Always” because the journey is ongoing and the greatest stories are told through the process that is life. The story is in the logo. Why the 4th Star incomplete? Firstly, the stars are representative of Mycal’s military roots and service to others before self. The highest rank one can achieve in military service is symbolized by 4 stars.

The Next Level stars also represent what we should all be trying to achieve: our highest and best self. Stacked upon the foundation of your physical body, emotional, mental and spiritual states of being. The 4th star is broken because we will forever be a work in progress. This is a never ending journey.

Nicole-AndersNicole Anders, CEO of Next Level Performance Consulting, excels in leading the organizational process, coordinating the chaos, and assisting her husband and business partner to help executives and high performers make themselves a priority again by using the Next Level Method. Her value is in her exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to take a vision and project from the starting line to the finish line.

For the past 10 years in various executive and personal assistant roles, Nicole coordinated and managed everything from travel, corporate meetings and conferences to cocktail and dinner parties, to founder’s dinner’s for top donors at multi-million dollar charity galas, by executing a discovery process of a team’s ultimate vision and making it become a reality.

I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I am Deana Cooper Chapman  and I have spent many years learning the art of communication. I am a single mother of seven children! (That alone teaches you quickly how to communicate the same message to several different personalities effectively.)

In 2006 I started  looking into hypnosis, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming ) and Life Coaching as tools for overcoming behaviors, changing habits and stopping  “bad” thinking about self and others!

In 2008 I was officially NGH certified  and have been practicing Hypnosis, NLP and Life coaching ever since!! Here are just some of the things I can do for you!

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A COUNSELOR, THERAPIST OR PHD

I DO NOT TREAT DISORDERS OR DIAGNOSE

I can offer coaching and help you to find balance and direction.

I utilize hypnosis to help you help increase self confidence and set goals.

I can create a mind switch with NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and help shift how you think and act.

I possess the tools that help to facilitate change!!!

Today we continue our discussion of skills that can radically change your life. Again, these are simple skills that can be practiced and are great habits to make. We pick up from where we left off with the last episode, and are again joined by Ms. Komal Desai to give a millennial viewpoint on these skills.

time is moneyWe started out with one of the most important skills to have and understand. This important skill is to think of your time as money. We hear that quote all the time, that time is money, but few people really take that to heart. However, thinking of time as money allows us to really start to value the time we spend on things. It forces us to stop spending time on things that we need to do, and focus on what really matters.

Second, we took a look at long and short term goals. Both kinds of goals matter, but we often focus on one rather than the other. Part of being successful is having a good number of short goals while working towards a long term goal. We picked apart what these goals are and what they mean to your level of success.

The next skill is one that we love being able to do, but don’t necessarily do well. Winding down and meditating is something we all need to do. With life being so busy, our bodies and minds need to take some time to recharge.  A lot of times we like to watch television and movies, or go be social. However we look at why that is not the best way to wind down and what are things we can do to actually wind down and finish the day.

negative thinkingTo close off this list, we looked at eliminating ANTS. The acronym ANTS stands for automatic negative thoughts. This is something we don’t realize happens more often than not. But, being able to recognize the negative thoughts are happening, allows us time to change our perspective and look at things in a different light.

All of these are skills that we can readily implement into our own lives. Start by finding one that you really want to make a habit, and try to make that a part of your everyday routine. Eventually, we can make all of these skills part of our lives.

Today we discussed a topic that is applicable to everyone. Our focus for today is on simple skills that can really change and improve your life. This topic has been split into two shows because of how dense this topic is, but we took the time to really explain each skill, and talk about the ways to make these skills a part of your daily routine. We are covering four of these skills today: scheduling around your energy, looking successful, starting early, and planning in advance.

To start off the show, we talked about scheduling around energy. Scheduling around energy is a way to allow you to work in the most efficient way possible. Knowing when you have the most energy and when you are most focused in the day, allows for your day to be prioritized. It is okay to take time to rest throughout the day and take some time to let your brain take a break. Your energy is not infinite, and understanding how to plan your day based on energy is a great way for you to become more productive.

dress for success

The next skill we looked at was looking successful. Look the part to play the part! Sometimes we forget that the way we dress makes a lasting impression. Knowing how to dress for each situation is a a great way to ensure success. The way we dress presents a certain image, and we always want to present the best side of ourselves.

Third skill we looked at is starting early. Starting early allows us to make the most out of the day. When we start early, we get more hours in the, meaning we get to be that much more productive.

plan in advanceThe last skill we looked at today, is planning in advance. Planning is a way to stay on track and make sure that we get as much done as possible. Knowing that situations are always subject to change, we must remain adaptable in our planning.

These four skills are great ways we can start making a change towards success in our life. Next time, we are going to take a look at four more skills that can really make a change in life and lead you towards success.

Chef Joe Abston, owner of Hopjacks Pizza Kitchen & Taproom and The Tin Cow, oversees the culinary direction of Pot Roast & Pinot and Edible Invaders. A Pensacola Tate High School graduate homegrown chef learned the right way. Chef Abston started his culinary training at PJC before graduating from the culinary elite Johnson and Wales University, building the foundation for his epicurean adventure.  Humbly Joe applied his education working around the world diversifying his culinary portfolio in such great places as the Ritz-Carlton and Le Bec Fin. Starting in 2008 Joe focused his energies in the downtown Pensacola area – a then small foodie scene. One of the earlier downtown revitalization pioneers, Joe was pivotal on the growth of the downtown area, and continues to further the downtown scene advocating for Gallery Night and chairing the up & coming Palafox Wine Walk. Chef Abston isn’t done yet with more exciting concepts early in the planning stages.

New York Nick’s

New York Nick’s in Downtown Pensacola was recently named “The Best Sports Bar in Pensacola.” It’s no surprise, since the walls are literally inundated with 40 high-definition flat-screen TVs playing anything from water polo to hockey. They also have every sports package known to man, so if you’re not into football you can find something. Rhythmic gymnastics anyone?

But, ribbon dancing aside; during the Super Bowl I can imagine no better place in town to watch the game. Pensacola is located a mere three hours away from New Orleans and so, it seems, the locals have a soft spot for The Saints. My boyfriend, a native of Louisiana, was at first perplexed by Pensacola’s unabashed support of another state’s NFL team. But who are we going to cheer for? Jacksonville located on the other side of the state? Pass.

So New York Nick’s will undoubtedly be filled as the Saints (and pardon this pun) go marching into the Super Bowl (Ba Dum Ching!). And while there are plenty of franchises that cater to the sports crowd in Pensacola, nothing beats this one-of-a-kind place. Great bar specials all day long and an extensive menu keep this place busy, even during the off-season. They’re famous for their char-grilled wings but there burgers are amazing too. Try the “Best Damn Buffalo Chicken Sandwich Period” or the “Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich” if you want to switch it up a little. They even offer a children’s menu and all the usual bar fare favorites; cheesy fries, onion rings and nachos. Get here early on game day to stake out your table and be prepared to stay for the long haul. But I promise you, you won’t go hungry.”

In this edition of Global Leader Radio, we compare and contrast the elements of leadership that can instantly increase your ability to innovate and influence! Matt Hames and Colonel Marshall Irvin  joined Alvin to discuss the impact of global leadership on both military & civilian life along with explaining WHY both men “do what they do.” You are one hour away from achieving a breakthrough!

Here are seven takeaways from our discussion:

  1. Manage things, lead people.
  2. The military exists to ensure life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

  3. “Facts are our friends.”

  4. People don’t buy “WHAT” you do, they buy “WHY” you’re doing it.

  5. Global Leaders do not practice CGG (Cosmetics, Geography & Gender).
  6. Find the metaphor in every success or failure.
  7. Hire a Veteran!

Listen to host Alvin C. Miles interview Matt & Colonel Irvin as they unpack these takeaways, then add their teachings to your leadership toolkit. Leadership IS a conversation!

Matt Hames / CEO, Acru Wealth, LLC

Acru Wealth, LLC, is a comprehensive wealth strategy firm headquartered in Woodstock, Georgia. Matt graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree, major in Management, with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, from Kennesaw State University where he played basketball on scholarship for four years.  He is also a graduate of the Cannon Trust School.  Matt holds the professional designation of Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA), indicating excellence in the areas of fiduciary responsibilities, trust activities, personal finance, insurance, estate planning, tax planning, and investment management.

Prior to assuming the leadership position with Acru, Matt served as a Research Associate and financial advisor for The Henssler Financial Group.  He was responsible for the establishment and development of the firm’s relationship with First Cherokee State Bank, which culminated in the creation of CNT Financial in May of 2001.  In the short time since CNT opened its doors, it grew to over $400 million in custody assets.  In May of 2011 Matt led CNT through a redesign of its business model that changed the brand to Acru and meaningfully enhanced the delivery of the brand experience to the public.
