Celebrating 15 Years of Leadership: Pastor Chuck Allen’s Impact Reaches Far Beyond the Pulpit

For 140 years, Sugar Hill Church has been part of the fabric of its community. For the past 15, Pastor Chuck Allen has helped carry that legacy forward, leading a historic church through continued growth while extending its influence well beyond Sunday mornings.

Founded in 1886, Sugar Hill Church serves campuses in Sugar Hill and Peachtree Corners and is currently helping launch Lawrenceville Español, reaching our community in two languages. Under Pastor Chuck Allen’s leadership, Sugar Hill Church has continued to serve and impact the community in meaningful ways.

Those priorities reflect a life deeply rooted in Gwinnett County.

A graduate of South Gwinnett High School, Chuck previously served on staff at Church on Main in Snellville and later as COO of one of the nation’s largest mission organizations. He currently celebrates 15 years as Lead Pastor of Sugar Hill Church, continuing a leadership journey centered on faith, service and community impact. Together with his wife, Jenny, they have built a life grounded in faith, family and service. The couple has six children and eight grandchildren.

Chuck’s influence, however, is perhaps best understood by looking beyond his title.

Chuck’s commitment to the community extends well beyond the walls Sugar Hill Church, with connections and conversations with local schools, city leaders, and community leaders to identify opportunities to strengthen the community and serve people well. For the past three years, Chuck and Jenny have led the initiative with Neighborhood Meals on Wheels, supporting efforts to provide daily meals to hundreds of senior adults experiencing food insecurity.

For Chuck, leadership has never been simply about what happens inside the church, but about how the church can be a catalyst for good throughout the community. His commitment to people, partnerships and service continues to shape a legacy that reaches far beyond the walls of Sugar Hill Church.

That commitment made Sugar Hill Church a natural partner of Nonprofit Nation, a Business RadioX podcast dedicated to giving nonprofit organizations a platform to share their missions, expand awareness and build meaningful community connections. Allen and Sugar Hill Church have become valued proponents and supporters of the program’s community mission.
