Titania Jordan, Bark Technologies (North Fulton Business Radio, Episode 648)

Titania Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Parent Officer at Bark Technologies, joined host John Ray to discuss the Bark App, which helps parent monitor children’s online activity, and the new Bark phone, introduced in December 2022, to further help parents with their children’s technology. Tatania also talked about how Bark helps notify parents when they detect a potential crisis in their child, how trends in mental health issues in children correlate with social media exposure, the problems with iPhones, TikTok, and much more.

North Fulton Business Radio is broadcast from the North Fulton studio of Business RadioX® inside Renasant Bank in Alpharetta.

Bark Technologies

Bark’s affordable, award-winning dashboard proactively monitors text messages, YouTube, emails, and 30+ different social networks for potential safety concerns, so busy parents can save time and gain peace of mind.

Technology changes by the second, leaving parents feeling like their children’s digital world is out of their control. But it’s not.

Bark is an accurate, efficient and robust tool for helping parents keep their children safe online.

With sophisticated technologies that go well beyond simple keyword matching or requiring parents to monitor all of their children’s online activities, Bark alerts parents only when there is a credible threat – be it sexting, cyberbullying, Internet predators or even suicidal thoughts.

These alerts, combined with research-based recommendations for addressing the issue head-on, put more power in parents’ hands to address digital dangers. Plus, because Bark is unobtrusive, it helps parents build trust and truly partner with their children for online safety.

Titania Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Parent Officer, Bark Technologies

Titania Jordan is the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Parent Officer of Bark Technologies, an online safety company that helps keep kids safe online and in real life.

A renowned thought leader on digital parenting, Titania has contributed to pieces in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Huffington Post, Fox Business, Daily Mail, USA Today, Vogue, and more. Her first book, Parenting in a Tech World, was published in 2020 and quickly became a bestseller on Amazon. Titania was also featured in the 2020 documentary Childhood 2.0. She also frequently appears as a subject matter expert on nationally broadcasted programs such as the TODAY Show, Steve Harvey, The Doctors, CBS This Morning, Good Morning America, Fox News, Sirius XM Radio, and CNBC.

In 2017, Titania founded a Facebook group where parents could come together and get advice on raising kids in the digital age, share stories, and learn the latest news about social media. It now has more than 180,000 members and is growing rapidly.

One of her favorite childhood memories is her dad asking her to “figure out this new computer thing” (i.e., read the Microsoft Windows 3.0 user manual) in the early ‘90s and later teaching him to navigate the wild west of the early internet that would eventually turn into the online world we know today.

When she’s not busy trying to make the world a safer place for kids, Titania enjoys painting with her son.

For the latest news regarding parenting in a tech world, you can follow her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and yes, TikTok as well. For a link to Titania’s recent media appearances, visit Bark in the News.

John Winstanley, Founder and CEO, Fort Safety

Inspired by the courageous life of his daughter Laura Gwen and motivated by the frustration of seeing children of all ages fall victim to online toxicity, John Winstanley founded FortSafety in 2013, in Monroe, Georgia. With the support of his wife and family, John left his career as an engineer behind to start a nonprofit focused on protecting kids and strengthening families.

Featured in multiple publications, podcasts, radio, and TV shows and awarded commendations for their outstanding public service, John and the Fort safety aims to make internet use safe for children and empower their families to make healthy decisions for their internet use. John’s unique style of presentation uses stories of his own struggles with depression, self-esteem, and a technology-born addiction to teach his audiences how to create an internet safety plan, protect and empower kids to deal with bullying, or care for a child that has been exposed to harmful content by accident, for example.

Trust Stamp captures any biometric or other identifying data from any source and irreversibly transforms it into a non-PII hash. Although the hash is anonymized and tokenized data, their AI creates a probabilistic match on a one-to-one or a one-to-many basis and each hash can be connected to external data via an encrypted pivot table. In addition to low friction authentication and flagging synthetic and duplicate identities, their technology can sign, watermark, and biometrically encrypt communications and documents.
