By including your family in your training you can have the best of both worlds. Do your short runs with your family. Beginners should test their fitness level before they start training in order to prevent soreness and injuries. And everyone should make sure they have good shoes. Go to your local running store and get properly fitted.

On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Coach Tom Kelso. This guy has been the strength and conditioning coach for everyone from the Florida Gators football team to the St Louis Police Department. Here are some of the mistakes that Tom sees…1-Not making the time to workout 2-not making exercise a priority 3- not wrking hard enough 4- not being progressive over time. Time also gave his review of the P90X workout. His big workout tip was that if you are going to train then train hard – you need to overload in both cardio and strength training.  Tom has put out a bunch of strength training mauals and now has a released 100 of the best Strength Training Workouts cd. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on IWFL star running back with the DC Divas Rachelle Pecovsky. Rachelle is considered one of the early pioneers of the modern version of women’s tackle football. The IWFL regular season runs from April to July. Rachelle talked about her unique training method and how she transformed herself from a gymnast to a bruising running back who averaged over 10 yards a carry.
