In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain ways to tell if someone you’re swimming with is drowning. Drowning is the second leading cause of death for kids under 12. Most drownings occur in freshwater like lakes, ponds and pools. And of course little kids can drown in the bathtub if they are unattended. Believe it or not when someone is drowning they don’t behave like they do in movies. They don’t flail their arms and scream. They usually just quietly sink down into the water. So be on the look out for someone who looks dazed and has glassy eyes and is bobbing in the water – gasping for air. Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips.
