On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on our good friend Robert Davis, fitness journalist and author of The
Healthy Skeptic. Today he shared some scientific truths about organic fruits, vegetables and meats. Organic fruits are those grown without pesticides and organic meats have not been injected with antibiotics and hormones. Today we ask the question are organic foods worth the extra money you pay for them at the grocery store? Robert is our resident health mythbuster. His health journalism background make him the perfect person to ask and answer these questions. His book The Healthy Skeptic: Cutting Through The Hype About Your Health is a must read if you get overwhelmed with information about heath, fitness, wellness and don’t know who is telling the truth. You can trust Robert. Regarding organic foods the questions you have to ask (and Robert answers in this interview) are: Are microscopic amounts of pesticides on fruits and vegetables bad for you in the first place? Is organic food healthier than non-organic food? And are organic foods safer for you? You’ll have to listen to find out. To get his book check out Amazon.com or go to his website www.everwell.com
