Hal Schlenger, Director of Business Development with HIPnation, has decades of experience in marketing and disruptive technology and being a service provider in Silicon Valley, New York and now Atlanta, which includes launching high speed internet access and DVRs. With his wife being a nurse practitioner, thus a “provider” who creates the records to invoice insurance companies, he saw the pain of the broken healthcare system.
When he was introduced to the concept of direct primary care, and to alternative insurance products, he knew this was a great space to drive change. It requires understanding how healthcare differs from health insurance, innovative health insurance solutions, a lot of listening and a lot of storytelling. Nearly everyone has a health insurance story about the broken health system, so this involves understanding the macro-level ecosystem of providing healthcare as well as the micro-level details of health insurance plan design.
Hal is a licensed broker ranked in the top 5% for one of his carriers.
Hal and his wife Alison, who both graduated from Syracuse University, live in Atlanta, having recently adopted their 82nd rescued golden retriever. Hal also looks for ways to merge his passion for sailing with his client support.
