Bill has over 16 years of experience providing tax research, planning, and compliance services to individual, corporate, and partnership clients within a variety of industries. WhileBill specializes in working with small and middle-market businesses and their related owners, his background allows him to serve a broad client base from smaller “mom & pop” type establishments to much larger corporate conglomerates. Bill also has expertise in assisting clients in a multitude of transactional matters in the M & A arena including the application of code sections 338 & 1202. Also among Bill’s disciplines is representing clients in areas of controversy and disputes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Bill is also deeply involved in the firm’s staff development via various leadership/mentorship roles and serving as an annual instructor at CRI’s CPE Week teaching Leadership Academy Courses.

XPX – The Exit Planning Exchange

The Exit Planning Exchange (XPX) is a multi-disciplinary community of professional advisors who work collaboratively to help owners build stronger businesses, prepare for, and execute successful business transitions. David Shavzin is a passionate exit strategist and succession planning expert. He created The Value Track to help business owners improve profitability, build value, and sell their companies. David brings an outside, objective, and candid perspective in guiding client firms to success.

Bob Tankesley helps business owners transition out of their companies, usually resulting in a sale of the business and the real estate to outside buyers. As a 4th generation entrepreneur, he has a deep affinity for and understanding entrepreneurs, which easily develops into a trust relationship with business owners. Since 2000, Bob has helped business owners understand their businesses better. David Shavzin created The Value Track to help business owners build value and create a path toward a successful exit. Too often, they have not built the value they need and are unprepared when the time comes to put their transition into action.

Since 2000, David has helped business owners get on The Value Track. He helps them think through their long-term goals and plans, educates them on business value and brings the right – collaborative – advisory team around the table. He then assists in the implementation of value-growth initiatives, guiding them to a successful transition (sale, family transfer, etc.) His 7-step process improves their quality of life and allows them to exit on their own terms.

A frequent speaker on these topics, David is a Certified Management Consultant, former IMC Georgia chapter president and President and Co-Founder of Exit Planning Exchange Atlanta, formed to bring advisors together in a collaborative effort to serve their clients.

His early career was in banking and finance, then 12 years with life sciences company Sanofi/Aventis. He spent 4 years in corporate finance and Mergers & Acquisitions. Then, 8 leading teams responsible for Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service and IT functions within a $175M subsidiary.
