They are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of these hospitals by providing the highest quality blood components and services. LifeSouth is a community blood center, meaning the blood supply collected from their donors directly serves the needs of patients in their community. The blood donated there will stay there for local patient transfusions.

Each year, nearly five million Americans need a blood transfusion. To meet that responsibility, they need to collect 266,000 blood donations a year. That’s 728 donors a day. With over 30 donor centers, 44 blood mobiles, and over 2,000 blood drives a month, the LifeSouth team is committed to making sure the blood is there when you or your family member is in need. They are your community blood center.

The blood supply collected from donors directly serves the needs of patients at over 100 medical facilities throughout their footprint. The blood donated will stay in their community for local patient transfusion. Only if the local supply is met will LifeSouth share their blood resources with other communities.

She learned from school that we should protect our environment by using green products so she started making her own lip gloss and teeth whitening by using Vaseline and baking soda. Ellie then started making natural soaps after her cousin developed skin rashes by using other bath products. She saw the benefit of using green products and wanted to share her products with other people. In 2014, Cool 2 Sweet was born after persuading her parents to allow her to start her own business.

For 40 years, Partnership Against Domestic Violence, the largest nonprofit domestic violence organization in Georgia, has provided professional, compassionate and empowering support to battered women and their children in Metro Atlanta.

PADV began as an all-volunteer agency in 1975 and incorporated in 1977. Today the agency has 40 full and part time staff with an administrative office and two 24-hour emergency shelters in Fulton and Gwinnett counties. PADV also provides education to the community about domestic violence awareness and prevention, and teen dating violence. (Georgia is number one in teen dating violence in the country.)

PADV’s mission is to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower it’s survivors. PADV’s roster of services includes a 24-hour crisis line; two 24-hour emergency shelters with 96 beds; legal advocacy; supportive housing; a teen dating violence prevention program; outreach and prevention programs for battered women and children, a domestic violence in the workplace annual conference that equips companies to respond when domestic violence enters the workplace; and community education and training efforts. Annually they serve 19,000 women and children throughout Metro Atlanta. They are the largest domestic violence agency in the state of Georgia.

Monkey Wrench Brewing Co (MWB) is a craft brewery in planning for Gwinnett County, GA. This new microbrewery is launching as a result of the dreams and inspiration of a local home brewer Wayne Baxter and his fellow home brew friends. Now his team is taking this backyard operation to the big leagues and preparing plans for construction and launch of a new local brewery.

Baxter has been perfecting recipes for the past 17 years, collecting multiple awards along the way for beers like the Very Merry Monkey Ale.
