Stacy Robello recently became one of the new owners at Home Instead Senior Care of Pensacola.  She was a founding member of the franchise in 1999 until late 2001. After receiving her BA in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida, she left to pursue her career as an educator in one of Florida’s top ranked systems; Santa Rosa County School District. But when the Home Instead office was granted their Home Health Agency license from the State of Florida in 2006, Stacy was inspired to return; this time as a Community Educator addressing issues specific to the aging population and as a promoter of the many home care services offered by Home Instead. Even now as an owner, Stacy still helps drive referrals and builds relationships within the provider network which includes but is not limited to: hospitals, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, rehab facilities and hospice, etc. In addition, she also manages the web marketing in the Pensacola office which includes updating the company’s local website, email marketing and daily posts on their social media pages.  Some of Stacy’s affiliations are with the Baptist Women’s Board, Escarosa Senior Alliance, Santa Rosa Healthcare Advocates and the Healthcare Professionals Association of Northwest Florida.

Stacy is more enthusiastic than ever about being an owner of the Home Instead Senior Care team and watching the company expand to meet the needs of the community she serves.  When the opportunity arose to take ownership of the office, she didn’t hesitate. She’s excited to continue the tradition of bringing exceptional home care to the Pensacola community.

In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy take a break at the FitBloggin 2011 conference while Rosie Battista shares why sleeping naked after 40 is the way to go. As Rosie says don’t be afraid to “Think outside the box.”  She wants you to make each meal as “naked” as possible. That means eating foods in their most natural state. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Don’t buy food in a box or can or any food that has a label on it or has ingredients that you can’t pronounce.  This way you can build your healthiest and sexiest body. When you start doing that then you have the confidence to sleep naked and present your best self.

In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain some basic information about olive oil. Olive can go bad faster than you think. so but the small jar that you use up then buy more. It’s tempting to buy a huge bottle and save some money but don’t do it. Go with Extra Virgin olive oil. Olive oil is a great oil for everything – salad dressing, marinades, cooking even dipping. It’s healthy and it tastes great. Look for the USDA seal and look for a harvest and mill date that is within a year of the day you’re buying the oil.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share some easy tips to cut calories. Lose the chips and go with air popped snacks. Drink your coffee black or with skim milk and artificial sweeteners. When making a sandwich substitute most of the regular meat with a soy meat product then put real meat on the top and bottom of the stack of meat. This way you get the flavor of real meat but save a bunch of calories. This works great with bologna. And finally dilute all your full sugar sodas with water or sparkling water. Your kids will never notice.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Matt McClellan. Matt lost 25 pounds on an all pizza diet. He ate 1 slice of pizza every 3 hours. These slices were very nutritious though – some had meat – some had vegetables and some had fruit. This proves what Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy have been saying for years – that pizza is a health food. Not only did Matt lose a bunch of weight he also lowered his blood pressure, lowered his cholesterol and lost about 10% of his body fat. Matt does own a pizza shop in Florida so he has an easy time getting custom made pizza. But good news – he created the 30 Day Pizza Diet so anybody can do it. He also created  the Tour de Pizza which is a bike ride up the East Coast that stops at a bunch of pizza joints along the way. Matt wants to change the image of pizza as a junk food to pizza as a healthy food choice. To learn how Matt lost weight on his pizza only diet go to www.tourdepizza.com

In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share their favorite Persian pizza recipe. Using a bread that is more like a wrap than bread is how Dr Fitness came up with this recipe. He uses a Persian flat bread called lavash.  First, brush the lavash with olive oil then spoon on your favorite tomato sauce; then add your veggies and mozzarella cheese. Pre-heat your oven so its really hot then put the pizza in. you should be eating a thin and crispy pizza in less than 15 minutes.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share one of their favorite snapper recipes. Don’t be afraid to cook fish. this fish recipe is pretty simple. Get some red snapper – skinless. Heat up your grill – real hot. Now toss the fish on the grill. Sprinkle some jerk seasoning on the fish. You only get one flip so make sure it is ready to flip – look for some flakiness.  Now a great salsa that goes with this is made by chunking up some avocado, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, lemon juice and olive oil. Eat up.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share their spinach salad recipe. Baby spinach is one of my favorite ingredients for a salad. First make a low fat dressing using olive oil, orange juice, vinegar, horse radish, dijon mustard, honey. Now steam some green beans and chill them. Make the salad with the spinach, chilled green beans, your favorite salad ingredients and to be exotic add some fruit like orange slices or grapes.  It taste just like lettuce but is crammed with a bunch more nutrients.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips.
