A small business “CPA with a personality” and a professional mermaid for your next corporate event were featured on this edition of “North Fulton Business Radio” as Pam Balentine, Viking CPA Group, and Anna Clapper, Deep Blue Aquatics, joined the show. “North Fulton Business Radio” is hosted by John Ray and is broadcast from inside Renasant Bank in Alpharetta.

Pam Balentine is founder of Viking CPA Group, which services small to mid-size business owners, assisting them with tax, accounting, and consulting needs. She prides herself on being a value add to her clients and forming relationships. Pam helps clients understand their business numbers and how to use them to make key growth decisions. She assists clients with strategies to incorporate operations and processes with financials to ensure a low risk, effective, and efficient business.

Pam earned bachelor and master’s degrees in accounting from Michigan State University, and started her career at the prestigious EY in the Detroit office. She continued her career in auditing at various Fortune 500 companies. While working in internal audit, Pam started Viking CPA Group in March of 2013. She is a former adjunct accounting professor at Kennesaw State University. Pam describes herself as the CPA with personality.

Anna Clapper, Deep Blue Aquatics

Anna Clapper

Anna Clapper is a professional aquatic performer and owner of Deep Blue Aquatics in Columbia, SC. She has made appearances at events all across the Southeast. She not only provides exceptional mermaid and aquatic performance entertainment, but also offers personalized dive instruction, aquatic safety workshops, and life-saving certification courses upon request. She has nearly 15 years of diving experience and is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. As a PADI Master Freediver and Freediving Instructor, Anna has a recorded breath hold of over three and a half minutes. She can safely perform in open water and confined water environments using both breath hold diving and surface supply scuba systems. Anna has more than 20 years of training in a variety of dance styles, making her a skilled underwater model and performer.

In addition to diving, Anna is a published scientist. She works closely with local organizations as an advocate for conservation and STEM education. In her spare time, Anna is also a volunteer diver at the South Carolina Aquarium (in her human form). And, as you might have guessed, her favorite sea creatures are jellyfish.

The A2Z Manufacturing magazines are celebrating 25 years. Originally called ‘The Arizona Metalworker’, the initial publication targeted the precision manufacturing industry in Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. 10 years ago, the company launched the Rocky Mountain (CO, UT, ID, MT and WY) edition.

Five years ago, the company launched the West Coast edition. Today, the A2Z Manufacturing magazines are regional publications are targeted to precision manufacturing in the Aerospace, Defense, Semiconductor and Energy industries. John Sievila is PMO Project Director for Cancer Treatment Centers of America.  John is a graduate of University of North Dakota with a BSEE. As an accomplished Technology professional with extensive PMO experience in large-scale projects including Healthcare (PACS, HIS, RIS, etc.), John has successfully led large scale PMO driven projects and programs, including Professional Services organizations throughout his career. Expert at developing and aligning corporate strategies with operating processes, organizational structures and IT, John has built development models and project delivery methodologies for large scales projects including PACS, CRM and data warehousing.

John’s career highlights include 3M Healthcare implemented PACS projects for USC University Hospital, Baylor Medical Center, University of Washington, and Blodgett Medical Center. Supported RSNA and trade-shows in Singapore and Japan. While at Imation (3M Spinoff) John led the team (Project Director) for CRM selection (RFP, RFQ) and Deployment. Negotiated license fees. Acted as IT liaison to (5) business units. Moving to Eloyalty (Formerly Bentley Group) performed logistics technology selection (RFP/RFQ) for GE Medical Systems. Project Director (CRM deployment) for RCN, Frontier Telecommunications, Century Link, and Agilent (HP Medical devices). While at Braun Consulting John was the Program Manager for DirecTV which included technology selection and deployment for CRM and data warehousing solution.

John enjoys a good round of golf and working with K9 rescue groups.

Lynda Stanton began her career as a business analyst working on financial systems at Phoenix-based Apollo Education Group.  After enjoying varied experience at Apollo, which included internal audit and playing a key role on a PMO for a $13M business transformation project, she moved into the consulting world.  As an advisory consultant at PwC, Lynda led efforts to develop an adoption dashboard for a large cloud application implementation and ran the PMO for a $10M+ trade promotion system transformation.

Feeling it was time for a new challenge, Lynda began working in the newly established PMO for Phoenix-based software company, WebPT.  Over the last year, Lynda has worked with WebPT leadership to create the PMO function as well as manage internal projects including obtaining a security certification and the efforts to integrate a new acquisition.

Lynda lives in Scottsdale with her husband, 2 dogs and a cat.  She spends her free time doing yoga and volunteering for the Arizona Animal Welfare League where she is also a member of The League, AAWL’s Young Professionals Council.
