Designated by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, we focus on three distinct areas to promote and expand cybersecurity awareness and practice.

Developing the Next Generation of Cyber-Stars

UWF Cybersecurity scholars work comprehensively to detect critical vulnerabilities and defend organizations of all sizes against information security exploitation.

Become a cybersecurity expert with up-to-date, industry-aligned programs and hands-on experience at the University of West Florida. UWF offers multidisciplinary Cybersecurity degree programs and certificates at the undergraduate and graduate levels. UWF is a member of the National CyberWatch Center and provides interdisciplinary Cybersecurity programs and certificates crossing Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security Management, Computer Engineering, Security and Diplomacy and other areas. Scholarships are available to support students in Cybersecurity-related areas.

My heart has always been with not-for-profit organizations though and I have a decade of experience in this area. I have been with GCKH since December 2010. I serve as the President of the Florida Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers, a statewide membership organization representing all of the children’s advocacy centers in Florida. I am a proud Cordova Rotarian and United Way of Escambia County volunteer.

– Annual Pursue Your Passion Women’s conference. To help celebrate National Business Women’s Week, we hold a full day conference during the third week of October along with several other events leading up to the conference. We feature a national keynote speaker, several local successful leaders in business, along with Speed Networking, an Experience Hall, structured and unstructured networking exercises and plenty of laughter, relationship building and excitement. Our attendees are not only motivated by the conference but they leave with tangible tips they can take back and implement in their businesses to lead them to success. For 2018, our conference will be held on Wednesday, October 17^th and Thursday, October 18^th, 2018 at Sanders Beach.

– Power Up Challenge is a 12 week educational series where we hold classes once a week for two hours. Classes focused around four main areas of business: Networking, Marketing, Business Efficiency, and Sales Skills. Open to men and women and all classmates receive the full audio recording of each class along with class notes, expanded notes, and extra resources. Remote classes also available. Classes are affordable and attendees are elated with the amount and quality of the information that is shared.

Bruce Wuollet began working in real estate in 2001 with tax lien foreclosures. It all started with an idea. An idea to be the friendliest gym in town. To know their members’ names, not just their numbers. To offer free towel service, even if that meant doing laundry at his apartment until two in the morning. This was the beginning of Mountainside Fitness.

In 1991, founder and CEO, Tom Hatten, began Mountainside Fitness while a junior at Arizona State University. Together with his family and friends, Tom brought his dream to life. From welding gym equipment to painting walls to selling memberships, the early years were true sweat equity in every sense of the word. Mountainside Fitness was founded on community and value, and those continue to be at the company’s core as they grow into 16 locations and over 80,000 members this year.

Commissioner Grover C. Robinson, IV, is a seventh generation Pensacolian who currently serves as Escambia County’s District 4 Commissioner. Robinson has served on the county commission since 2006, and was appointed chairman in 2010 and 2016. He has also serves as chairman for the Florida Gulf Consortium. His past services include president of the Florida Association of Counties from 2014-15, 2016 class member of Leadership Florida and National Association of Counties at-large board member.

Robinson has been actively involved in the community, serving as a current or past board member for the Pensacola State College Foundation, Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida, United Way of Escambia County, Baptist Health Care Foundation, Christ Church Episcopal Parish and more. Pamela Slim is an award-winning author, speaker and small business coach. She spent the first 10 years of her business as a consultant to large corporations such as Hewlett-Packard, Charles Schwab and Cisco Systems. In 2005, she started the Escape from Cubicle Nation blog, which led to coaching thousands of entrepreneurs, from martial art studios to software startups. Pam opened a national small business learning laboratory in Mesa, Arizona last year. She published two books with Penguin Portfolio: Escape from Cubicle Nation in 2009, and Body of Work in 2014.
