Diagnosed with RP, a blinding retinal disease, at the age of 19, David uses his personal story to drive change that leads to improved employment outcomes and community integration for people who are blind or visually impaired.

Mr. Steinmetz graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Economics. Additionally, Steinmetz has continued his education by graduating from the Business Management Training (BMT) program provided by Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia.

In 2008, David was the national recipient of the National Industries for the Blind Milton J. Samuelson Career Achievement award. This prestigious award recognized Mr. Steinmetz for his career achievements and community service work.

David Steinmetz is a member of the Governors’ Council on Blindness & Visual Impairments, is a Board Member at the Arizona Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired (ACBVI) and serves his community through the Chandler Lions Club.

Kirk Barnes is the Co-Founder of TransPharMed, a consulting firm focused on business development and commercialization for healthcare and health care focused start-ups. He has a life sciences background with experience related to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nanotechnology, diagnostic, digital health and medical device industries. Kirk has a broad background encompassing leadership, sales, sales excellence coaching and training, business development, global marketing, lobbying and managed markets. He served as a Board Member of the International Authentication Association (IAA), which monitored and provided guidance regarding authentication techniques and counterfeiting trends.

At IKON/Ricoh, he led sales and marketing process implementation for a field sales organization of over 5000 reps. At Extra Space Storage, a real estate company, he led sales and operations process implementation as the company grew from 300 to over 700 locations. Through all this Chris learned he had a “superpower” for scaling businesses. But he didn’t want to just do something big, he wanted to do something that mattered! This is when he found a growing software company called Infusionsoft. Their purpose “To Help Small Businesses Succeed” was so compelling to him, that he joined them to lead operations and systems as they grew from $50M to more than $100M in revenue.

With a “small business success” fire in his belly, Chris happened on the EOS book “Traction.” He was truly shocked to find that everything he had learned about how to scale a business through years of painful trial and error was there in one harmonious system. Chris was hooked and is now on a mission to help hundreds of small businesses change the world and get more of what they want from their businesses!
