Becca Goldsberry

Becca Goldsberry, Southwestern Coaching

Becca Goldsberry with Southwestern Coaching joined host John Ray to address why a coach can be indispensable for a business owner or executive as they strive for their professional and personal goals. Becca discussed the role of a coach in providing accountability, the value of coaching at all stages of a career, success stories, how she works with clients, and much more. Business Leaders Radio is produced virtually from the Business RadioX® studios in Atlanta.

Southwestern Coaching, a division of Southwestern Consulting

Southwestern Consulting’s story actually begins with another member of the Southwestern Family of Companies—Southwestern Advantage. Established in 1855 in Nashville, Tennessee, The Southwestern Publishing House published and sold Bibles door-to-door, allowing young people to not only learn the sales profession at an early age, but also to earn money to pay for a college education. Southwestern Advantage was developed out of that model, and today, Advantage continues to thrive as the Family of Companies’ core entity, with college-aged entrepreneurs around the world selling and promoting educational study systems.

One of those savvy entrepreneurs, Dustin Hillis, saw the opportunity to take the skills he learned in Advantage and teach them to other sales professionals and leaders, elevating the perception of sales to a true relationship-building profession. Thus, Southwestern Consulting was born. Co-founder and CEO, Hillis, along with other top-producing Southwestern Advantage alumni founded the company on the principles of sales and leadership coaching, establishing the first division, Southwestern Coaching. In the coming years, those principles would be expanded to the newer divisions, elevating events with high-quality, engaging speakers, and empowering people to reach their true potential.

Leah Zimmerman, Business and Leadership Coach, Stepping Stool Coaching

Leah Zimmerman, Business and Leadership Coach, Stepping Stool Coaching

Just as a child uses a step stool to reach the bathroom sink, coaching helps clients reach a little farther than they can on their own. Coaching provides the stool, but the clients do all their own reaching.

Create a harmonious and prosperous life one conversation at a time- conversations that help you have a better relationship with yourself and your family and help you move forward in your creative work or business.

Break your habitual patterns and expand your capacity as a leader, a creator, and a relationship builder. The communication that got you here is not the same communication that will create the transformation you need to move your business forward.

Get help with communicating more powerfully. Learn how to better inspire, influence, and impact your team, audience, or stakeholders.

Leah is an expert communicator with training in resolving conflict. Through her training and experience in education, in theater, and in leadership, she has learned that it isn’t about what you say or how you say it, it is about who you are when you say it. She has always had something to say and has spent her life learning how to say things so people can hear them. Now she helps people do the same thing.

Leah is hosting an event on November 17th, 2021 on navigating difficult relationships. Visit Eventbrite to learn more and for tickets.

Fort Leadership
Andy Kalajian, Fort Leadership

Andy Kalajian has been a highly sought-after public speaker for more than 25 years. He has received public acclaim for his brand, EnTheos, Latin for Spirit Within and origin to the word Enthusiasm. Andy enthusiastically delivers powerful talks and lessons steeped in the wisdom literature and their practical application into busy lifestyles. His tagline, transformational thought in action, serves as a reminder to the participant that one can, indeed, permanently change the destiny of their life by changing the nature of their thoughts and actions.

Andy was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. As a young boy he discovered his passion for serving others in medicine and his gift for public speaking. At the age of 12, Andy, at the urging of his father, began to earn his own way as a Golf Caddy. His sense of adventure also led him, along with his father, to the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. In High School, Andy’s mother introduced him to the books Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

While a golf caddy, Andy was awarded the prestigious Evans Scholarship, a full academic and leadership scholarship, to study at Michigan State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. In 1985, he coupled his lifelong passion for medicine and serving people with his gift of enthusiastic speaking and moved to Atlanta to begin his career in Medical Sales. As a young professional, Andy’s mom continued to fuel his desire for wisdom literature from authors/speakers Zig Ziglar, Earl Nightingale, Les Brown, Stephen Covey, and John Maxwell. Andy applied the character traits instilled in him from the Boy Scouts and the leadership skills taught to him by John Maxwell, Stephen Covey, and others to enjoy over 30 years in an award-winning medical sales career.  It was during this time that Andy was asked to speak to groups as small as 4 or 5 and as large as 500+ all over the US and Puerto Rico.

Andy and his wife, Sherrie, have four adult children and are active members of Pastor Andy Stanley’s congregation at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Andy enjoys time invested with his wife Sherrie, his family, and friends.

E50 The Science of Project Management and Learning Agility for Leadership Effectiveness

Our capacity and openness to new ideas and concepts help to expand our growth within the project management field. In this episode, we explore new thinking for science within project management and also how to benefit from learning agility. Listen to hear Josh Ramirez President of the Institute for Neuro & Behavioral Project Management and Veronica Schmidt Harvey Principal with Schmidt Harvey Consulting.

Josh gets us thinking about the science of project management and how the brain functions the help us improve as our ability to successfully deliver projects. For example, how we plan a project vs predicting how a project will play out. Predictions allow us to bring in additional sciences which will allow us to be more accurate.

Veronica focuses on leadership and techniques leaders should use to be more successful. Learning agility is not tied specifically to Agile, rather it is about applying learnings at the pace of change. She shares that while IQ and EQ are critical to effectiveness, learning agility is even more important and a better predictor of effectiveness as a leader.

In these times of self-quarantine and working from home, we’ll continue to bring you insightful conversations with project management and leadership thought leaders. We have a great lineup of international guests upcoming to cover a broad range of topics.
