Kimberly Sparling
President
Assistance League of Tucson
Kim is currently President of Assistance League of Tucson, a nonprofit whose mission is volunteers working in the Tucson Community to help those in need. Kim says that she enjoys working with so many talented volunteers to make Tucson a better community for everyone who lives here. Growing up in Southern California, she was an Assisteen during high school. Assisteens is an auxiliary of Assistance League which gives high school age young men and women the opportunity to learn what it means to give back to their community. Kim’s mother has been a member of Assistance League for more than 45 years, so it was only natural that when she moved to Tucson, she volunteered.
Kim has been a member of Assistance League of Tucson for more than ten years and has contributed as Chair of Strategic Planning, Chair of Marketing Communications, Resource Development in charge of grants, legacy gifts, and solicitations as well as serving as webmaster, and working on the property and grounds committee. Assistance League is an all-volunteer organization, so their volunteers do it all from dressing children at Operation School Bell to staffing our Thrift Shop to painting the building.
Prior to joining Assistance League Kim was a Systems Engineer in the field of Network Security. She worked for The MITRE Corporation in Boston and chaired an International Standards Committee on Local Area Network Security. As a graduate of Smith College, she is also active in the Tucson Smith College Alumnae Club which has about 300 members here in Tucson.
Kim has lived in Tucson for 20 years, is married, and enjoys her rescued German shepherd.
