Maedeh Samimi, Urban Skin Care Clinic

Secrets for Healthy Skin, with Maedeh Samimi, Urban Skin Care Clinic (North Fulton Business Radio, Episode 740)

Maedeh Samimi, owner of Urban Skin Care Clinic in Roswell, joined host John Ray on this episode of North Fulton Business Radio. Maedeh discussed the importance of understanding skin, both in managing challenges like adult cystic acne and aging gracefully, highlighting the holistic approach that makes Urban Skin Care Clinic stand out. She shared how her personal experience with cystic acne fueled her passion for skincare and how her treatments aim to boost confidence and self-image in addition to improving skin health. Maedeh also covered the importance of daily skincare routines, including the use of sunscreen, why regular exfoliation is so crucial, and much more.

North Fulton Business Radio is hosted by John Ray and broadcast and produced from the North Fulton studio of Business RadioX® inside Renasant Bank in Alpharetta.

Maedeh Samimi, Owner, Urban Skin Care Clinic

Maedeh Samimi, Urban Skin Care Clinic

Maedeh Samimi is a licensed aesthetician in Roswell, Georgia.

Maedeh started her career path as a makeup artist and enjoyed helping and uplifting women and their self-image. In her early 20s, she experienced adult cystic acne and quickly learned that masking her breakouts with makeup wasn’t improving her skin condition but further clogging her pores. Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States, affecting up to 60 million Americans and their self-esteem annually.

Inspired to help others after her own journey with acne, Maedeh founded Urban Skin Care Clinic in February of 2020 in Roswell. From the early days of her aesthetic career, Maedeh knew she wanted to focus on the clinical side of the industry, and from working in medical spa settings, she gained vast knowledge and over 10,000 hours of hands-on experience in clinical skin treatments and procedures.

Maedeh continuously furthers her education and stays current with industry news and innovations. She is passionate about helping and guiding other women to feel confident in their own skin and leaving makeup to be an option rather than a security blanket by clearing their acne, removing sun-damaged spots, and rejuvenating tired, dull complexions.

Maedeh is the host of The Skin Coach in Georgia podcast.

Sun Devil 100 with Duffy Group CEO Kathleen Duffy and Trish Gulbranson with Derma Health

The Sun Devil 100 celebrates the achievements of Arizona State University alumni who own or lead successful, innovative businesses across the globe. Spanning industries and locations, ASU entrepreneurs possess a history of enterprise, vision and leadership. This special awards program was instituted to invite these innovative leaders back to campus for a celebration in their honor. The Sun Devil Class of 2018 represents an elite group of talented business leaders who exemplify the spirit of ASU as a New American University.

The ceremony is happening on April 29th and is attended by major CEOs, community leaders, etc. Companies can purchase seats or sponsor tables.

Duffy Group, Inc. is a global executive search and recruitment firm. Kathleen has been selected as a member of the Sun Devil 100 for the fourth year in a row and will be DGLogojoined by the Board Chair of the ASU Alumni Association to talk about this year’s celebration of Sun Devils who impact the community and the economy like Kathleen.

Kathleen-Duffy-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXKathleen Duffy Ybarra is the founder and president of Duffy Group, Inc., a global recruiting firm. She imparts a strength of purpose to her entire staff, and the result is one of the strongest recruitment teams in the business. Her commitment to serving candidates and clients alike motivated Kathleen to develop the Recruitment Research model which enables Duffy Group to harness marketplace intelligence, work as a discrete (and transparent) partner and deliver quality candidates with up to 50 percent savings over traditional recruitment fees.

Kathleen currently serves as the Co-Chair on 2020 Woman on Boards and is Co-Chair of the No Longer Homeless Capital Campaign Cabinet. A founding member of the Arizona Human Resource Executive Forum, Kathleen was also Past Board Chair for the ASU Alumni Association, she served on the ASU Board of Trustees and Leadership Counsel and as National District Coordinator for the National Charity League. Kathleen is also an active member of the Kappa Delta Advisory Board. Recently Kathleen was honored for her leadership, community service, and dedication to mentorship by being awarded the 2018 ATHENA Business Woman of the Year Award in the private sector.

Kathleen earned a B.A. in Communications from Arizona State University and is a proud Sun Devil.

We are unique in our industry for our focus on internal health, which turns into external beauty and for our approach on the client-provider relationship. You won’t find a friendlier, more compassionate place for your skin care needs!

Trish-Gulbranson-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXAccepting a job she didn’t want to take proved to be the catalyst for Derma Health Skin & Laser CEO Trish Gulbranson’s second career as an entrepreneur.  Gulbranson credited her decision in 1995 to work for a small software company with giving her the confidence and vision to launch one of the Valley’s top med spas in 2005. Before entering this industry, Gulbranson was using her finance degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University as an accountant. She spent her first 10 years after graduating working for a large firm doing audits on major companies. She was offered a job with a software company that had a staff of 12.

A colleague convinced her that something called the internet was a game-changer on the horizon and that she’d miss the boat by not taking that job. She became the president and CEO of that software company and was with it for 12 years before it was sold. The founder of that company was a woman who inspired her to take a leap of faith. Working for a small and nimble company allowed Gulbranson to be more operational and get into every facet and department instead of being limited to her designated job title. There, a vibe that she described as “uplifting, inspiring and edgy” was something she wanted to replicate and built Derma Health around that goal.

Summer time is “prime time” for skin care, for seeing and being seen!  We closely identify who we are with our faces. Taking care of our face and how we present ourselves in the world through our face is the topic of many discussions and actions.  From skin care at any age that can improve our appearance to facelifts that appear to  “peel” back the clock, this radio segment will focus on the skin care and appearance improvements that are possible for the face.

Licensed aesthetician Kim Bogash provides tips for a health glow, summer skin care and some noninvasive techniques to freshen the face. Nationally recognized Plastic Surgeon John Connors walks listeners through traditional and new techniques to improve facial appearance – from fillers to facelifts.  The first facelift was performed in 1901 in Europe and the procedure shows no sign of slowing down.

Facelifts remain one of the top 5 cosmetic surgical procedures in the US, growing over 5% per year. Half of the recipients are in the 40-55 yr age group and almost 90% are female, although the number of men pursuing this procedure is growing as well.  Topics covered in this segment  will include skin care, minimally invasive improvements available, facelift myths, new procedures and techniques, and recovery post procedure.

For more information on this topic, listeners are encouraged to visit: www.plasticsurgery.org or www.johnconnorsmd.com.

John P. Connors III,  M.D.

Being double board certified in Surgery and Plastic Surgery, Dr. Connors obtained his MD from Georgetown Medical School, conducted his Residency in General Surgery at Dartmouth and received a Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Harvard Medical School.  He is the only surgeon in Georgia to offer Precision Vision 4D Patient Imaging, thereby revolutionizing consultations.  Having been featured on CBS, 11 Alive, and Fox News, Dr. Connors is a regular lecturer at surgical society meetings across the US. He is Founder of Emergence Surgical Gifts, Inc, a non-profit offering free reconstructive surgery to children.

Amy Leavell Bransford is a licensed esthetician who owns and operates New Moon Skin Care, an Atlanta-based microdermabrasian, skin care and hair removal business.

http://www.newmoonskincare.com/

Prior to acquiring her license in esthetics, she worked as a publicist in the record industry for bands and artists such as 311, CAKE, Widespread Panic, Galactic, Vic Chesnutt and Precious Bryant.

She also worked for two Atlanta-based record labels, Terminus Records and Capricorn Records. Amy’s passion for music stemmed from her father, keyboardist and environmentalist Chuck Leavell.

In this Chic Perspective, Amy shares how music led her to skin care, and how she then turned an interest into a business reality.

After studying at the Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics and becoming certified in CPR and microdermabrasion, she opened her business, “New Moon Skin Care,” named because healthy skin cells regenerate approximately every 28 days – the same cycle as the moon. She explains how she turned a passing interest into a successful business idea.

This is so interesting to me. Those of you that know me, know how I closely follow the cycles of the moon and I am hearing more and more people tuning in this important  natural timing to make decisions, take action and just get more in the flow of life.

Amy also reveals how she spread the word to market and promote her business by leveraging the media, how she overcame her own limiting beliefs to achieve more of her full potential.

Thank again Amy for coming on today to share with all of us how we can shine from the inside out and get gorgeous glowing skin with natural techniques and products.

If you’ve ever dreamed of opening up your own skin care business, you love hearing Amy’s story and how you made it happen.
