Flipping the Industry- People and Profit with Keyser and beni.fit E7

The conversation with Ash Hachmeister and Noah Barrasso was such an insightful conversation about servant leadership, company culture, and building business relationships. Keyser and beni.fit are both wonderful examples of companies that are turning their industry on its head. Both work in industries that are usually out to just make a buck. So how do you continue to grow a company and make money, while also focusing on the people and what is truly best for them? That’s what they discuss in this conversation.

Both Ash and Noah are doing great things in their companies to not only focus on the needs of the clients/employees, but on making everything easier for them to understand as well. Health insurance can be extremely difficult to understand but Ash and his team are there to truly help the individuals pick the plans and options that are best for them because it is not a one size situation. Speaking of size, Noah is there to not only help explain things on the corporate real estate side, but also make sure that the companies they help are really finding the space that is the right size, design, layout and feel to support their company growth and culture.

The listeners are able to get a deeper look into how things work at Keyser when it comes to serving others and how “Being a selfless servant is the most selfish thing to do for your business.” These topics of culture, growth, support, and business relations builds and draws the conversation. beni.fit is flipping their industry on the head by truly focusing on the benefit needs of the employees and making sure they are getting the benefits support they truly need. This is a great show for folks to listen to if they want to understand the benefits of selfless service and even hear ways to start activating this in their own lives. This is also a great opportunity to hear from companies that are not doing things “the same old way.” They have changed their industries for the better and they are not keeping it a secret about how they are doing this- so listen in!

With a focus on the needs of tenants, Keyser exclusively represents occupiers of space and assist them with their commercial real estate needs including leasing, purchasing, constructing or disposing of facilities. We specialize in helping companies leverage their real estate buying power to secure incentives and attract today’s work force, all while reducing cost and risk.

Whether it’s managing a global portfolio of office and industrial leases, helping a retail franchise brand roll out locations nationally, negotiating sites for specialty healthcare clinics, assisting rapidly growing technology companies with their expansion, or helping with our clients’ data center strategy and space needs, our advisors take deep pride in serving and going above and beyond for each of our clients.

Noah-Barrasso-Phoenix-Business-RadioXNoah Barrasso believes in creating a personal experience w/ his clients by serving them in a way which leaves a lasting impression.

Through helping others and creating genuine relationships, Noah is able to truly learn about their culture, their business functions, and what ecosystem is needed to help their company & employees thrive.

From startups to Fortune 500 companies, Noah Barrasso helps companies lease and purchase commercial real estate.

ABOUT YOUR MAC6 COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS CO-HOSTS

KyleMcIntoshWith a background in marketing, in various for profit and not for profit companies, Kyle McIntosh wondered, “How can I pair the passion and commitment to community progress of a non-profit with the sustainability and reach of a for profit company?” From this question and perspective a mission evolved to tear down the false distinction between the two sectors and to promote companies with Conscious Capitalism® business models through MAC6.

Kyle is the President and Creative Excitant of MAC6.  Day to day, his main operational role is on the “spaces” side of the business, focusing on creating thriving communities in the commercial office buildings, the co-working space, and the co-manufacturing space.  The other role that he plays is that of EOS implementer, working with clients to bring the Entrepreneurial Operating System, from the book Traction® to their businesses.  Additionally, he sits on the boards of Conscious Capitalism Arizona, telling the stories of good businesses in Arizona, and The Tempe Chamber of Commerce, sustaining Tempe’s quality of life and keeping our community and economy vibrant.

Kyle loves Arizona and wants to see us all collectively find great success based on the awesome things that are happening here every day.

Mokuteki is a Japanese word meaning “Purpose.” Like many words, its made up of 2 characters. One word means “Vision”, and one means “the way to act.” In other words… Aligning our Actions with our Vision.

After a few decades of leading his own teams, Todd Westra was brought in by some of the world’s largest organizations to conduct team building and leadership training for them. twlogo2k

The end result? Developing a system of helping leaders gain Clarity on their Vision, build Connection with their teams, and ultimately develop a Culture that will embrace the strategy and vision they have for their organization.

Todd-Westra-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXTodd Westra has spent his entire career leading teams in both his organizations and in some of the world’s largest companies. As a leader, Todd experienced first-hand times when he was in sync with his teams, and times when he wasn’t! Developing a culture that embraced a vision of where he felt the company should go led to some amazing successes.

Todd has spent the last several years helping other leaders work through the process of aligning the actions of their teams to match their vision of where they were hoping to take them. From founders to mid-level managers, the problem is the same. When the leader lacks clarity of where they want to guide their team, growth is only achieved by luck.

Todd has been teaching leaders for years how to reach amazing levels of High Performance by focusing on these 3 areas of leadership. I have recently published a course called “The 3C’s of Leadership” on toddwestra.com, and encourage leaders at ALL levels to connect with me for a FREE 30 minute coaching session to determine if the course is a good fit for resolving issues they may be facing.

Positioning your company for hyper-growth requires “leveling up” people as well as processes and tools. Many leaders (and investors) interpret leveling up as replacing existing personnel with more qualified people. But the onus is on these leaders to create a culture of continuous education rather than blaming people when things go wrong. In this episode, Anne Sugar, an executive coach for the Harvard Business School Executive Program, provides an in-depth case study of a hiring process she coached an H.R. executive through as she set out to answer four key questions in preparation for expansion.

Special Guest: Anne Sugar, Founder & CEO – Anne Sugar Coaching & Consulting

Location:  Boston, MA  USA

Show Notes:

  • Anne’s Coaching Process: learn more about Anne’s proven methodology that combines a goal-based process with evidence-based coaching.
  • How to Tell if You Have Delegated Too Much and What to Do About It: Anne’s Harvard Business Review article where she outlines 3 steps to provide your team the guidance and structure needed for success.
  • Inc. Magazine: Anne is a regular contributor – gain access to her articles on executive coaching, H.R. processes, leadership, and strategy.
  • Harvard Business Review – Leadership: curated content from the world’s top thought leaders on leadership and executive management.
  • Harvard Business Review – Human Resource Management: curated content from the world’s top thought leaders on human resource trends and processes.

ABOUT PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE HOURS SERIES

Project Management Office Hours is intended to provide Project Management professionals a place to drop in and discuss Success Stories, Best Practices, and Lessons Learned.  Project Management Consultant Joy Gumz has shared with us, “Operations keep the lights on, strategy provides the light at the end of the tunnel, but project management is the train engine that moves the organization forward.”

Each of us has a unique story to tell, but collectively we share a message that organizations who embrace Project Management Best Practices perform better than those which don’t.  Organizations which align Projects to Strategy perform better.  Organizations with Engage Executive Sponsors deliver better results.  Organizations which measure Project Management performance outperform those which don’t.

During our Project Management Office Hours, we hear directly from Industry leaders how to make an impact in our profession. How we, collectively, will Advance Project Management Best Practices, One Listener at a time!
