Georgia Senator Frank Ginn

Senator Frank Ginn, a Republican, was first elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2010 and proudly represents District 47, which encompasses Madison County and portions of Barrow, Clarke, and Jackson counties.

In 2000, when Franklin County transitioned to a county manager form of government, Sen. Ginn was chosen as its first county manager, serving the community in that capacity until his election to the Senate. Today, he continues to apply his technical expertise as a consulting engineer, assisting communities throughout the Southeast with utility expansion, economic development, transportation infrastructure, and civil site design.

At the State Capitol, Senator Ginn serves as Vice Chair of both the Senate Committee on Economic Development and Tourism and the Senate Committee on MARTOC. He also serves as an Ex-Officio member of the Committees on Natural Resources and the Environment, Regulated Industries and Utilities, and State and Local Government Operations. Additionally, he is a member of the Senate Committees on Appropriations, Rules, and Transportation.

A proud University of Georgia graduate, Sen. Ginn earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering in 1985—continuing his family’s Bulldog tradition. His early career followed in his parents’ footsteps within the utility industry, beginning at Jackson EMC as Director of Member Services before transitioning to the City of Royston, where he served as City Manager and Treasurer. He later brought his leadership to the City of Sugar Hill in Gwinnett County as City Manager.

Senator Ginn considers it a true honor to represent the citizens of Georgia’s 47th District and to serve the people of Georgia with dedication and integrity.
